Commonwealth Secondary beat Bedok North 57-40 in their Round of 16 match yesterday to earn themselves a semifinal spot in the adidas It Takes 5ive Tournament.

Commonwealth started the brighter of the two teams and led 14-6 by the end of the first quarter. Bedok North got going in the second to make it a game, narrowing the deficit to 10 points for a half-time score of 18-28. In the third quarter, Bedok North matched Commonwealth point for point but couldn’t do more to narrow the gap which remained at 10 points. Going into the fourth quarter leading 38-28, Commonwealth did enough to hold off Bedok North and emerge 57-40 winners.
