The day after their overseas playing tour came Jurong West’s first game in the Yuying-adidas Invitational League. Despite their tired bodies, the girls overcame the tough resistance of SAC to clinch their first win of the tournament. With their tight defense and speed in the execution of their fast-break, the Jurong West Girls led the first three quarters. In a tight fourth quarter, SAC put up a good fight till the end. The game ended with Jurong West beating SAC 47-28.

Beijing Aoshen star Sun Yue wowed the students of Catholic High with a series of dunks, including a 360 degrees dunk during a basketball clinic conducted by the Aoshen basketball team on Thursday, 29 November 2007.
Standing at an intimidating 2.06m, the point guard is also the 40th overall pick for NBA’s Los Angeles Laker’s team. He will be teaming up next season with Kobe Bryant. Imagine that! He also demonstrated the drills that NBA scouts look for when selecting players.

Nan Hua Primary (NHP) was one of the two primary schools (the other being Poi Ching Primary), which made it into the second round of the U-13 Volleyball Championships. They met Ngee Ann Secondary (NAS) in what was their last match of Round 2.

Dunman Secondary (DMS) met Fairfield Methodist (FMSS) in Round 2 of the recently concluded U-13 Volleyball Championships.
DMS proved a strong force to be reckoned with after their convicting wins in their previous matches. Jermaine (#16, FMSS) started the game with a few strong serves. Winning several points for her team, FMSS quickly took an early lead. DMS tried their very best to receive their opponents’ serve and organise an attack. Spikes by the DMS centre spikers Jia En (#2) and Claira (#11) earned several points for their team. However, the FMSS spikers managed to evade the DMS blocks many times to score. This eventually led FMSS to take the first set 25-21.

Ngee Ann Secondary (NAS) met Kolam Ayer (KA) CSC (a team made up of Cedar Girls’ players) in the semi-finals of the recently concluded U-16 Volleyball Championships. Both teams exhibited strong potential to move on to the finals as they showed off their skills during warm up.

Sweat, tears and a whole lot of teamwork were on display yesterday at the Yuying-adidas Invitational Basketball League. Ngee Ann Secondary won their first game of the league when they beat Nan Hua High 40-32. Said Scott Driscoll, from Ngee Ann after the game: "We worked hard together as a team, and we continue to strive hard to the next level!"
