With the year coming to an end, I was curious. Which were the five most popular stories here on Red Sports? Based on page views, here are the results.

#5 story on Red Sports. Coming in at number five is the story of Catholic high beating Gan Eng Seng Sec to win the B Division National Basketball Championship for the third year in a row. Added to that their second C Division championship title in a row later in the year, this reconfirmed Catholic High as a basketball powerhouse in the Singapore school basketball scene.

#4 story on Red Sports. The fourth most popular story is the semi-final rugby game where Raffles Junior College beat Anglo-Chinese Junior College 7-3. This story also attracted a large number of heated comments from passionate players and old boys.

#3 story on Red Sports. The 48th Inter-School Cross Country Championship came in at number three, not surprising considering the huge number of runners on that day alone and the long-standing rivalries among schools with a strong cross-country heritage.

#2 story on Red Sports. Reflecting the intense rugby rivalry at school level, the story of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) beating St Andrew’s 15-3 to win back the B Division National Championship after three years ranked second among readers. This story generated even more heated comments among readers.

#1 story on Red Sports. The most popular story on Red Sports? Again it’s rugby, this time the story of Raffles Junior College beating Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) in the A Division championship final. The story of the game became secondary very quickly as the comments section exploded with heated debates, resulting in the most number of comments generated for a single story.

So those are the Top 5 stories for the year here on Red Sports and I hope it brings back fond memories for players, coaches, friends, families and sports lovers.
