It’s down to Singapore and Moscow for the bid to host the 2010 Youth Olympic Games, and Maria Sharapova has put her name behind Moscow. The Russian-born tennis player, who is a three-time Grand Slam Champion, said yesterday, “My heart beats for Moscow and I hope it will be elected to stage these Games.” Speaking at a press conference after the Federation Cup draw in Israel, Sharapova said “I am confident Moscow has all it needs to deliver an unforgettable global youth festival."

Singapore may not have the endorsement of anyone of Sharapova’s celebrity status. Thankfully that is not a criterion for winning the bid. And we at Red Sports would like to believe that the hearts and voices of a legion of Singaporeans more than makes up for one Sharapova.

Will you help us add to that voice?
