Singapore Basketball Centre, Tuesday, March 18, 2008 – Jurong Secondary outplayed their opponents Chung Cheng High (Yishun) 74-57 in their B Division Boys National Basketball Championship match.

Jurong’s skill was obvious right from the start as they ran circles around their opponents, scoring point after point. The first quarter finished 16-9 in favour of Jurong.

The second quarter saw a similar scenario. Stepping up their attacks, Jurong managed to extend the lead further, outscoring Chung Cheng 19-7 in the quarter for a 35-16 half-time lead.

Chung Cheng had another half to put up a fight and after some rallying from their coach, Chung Cheng stepped up to give a better account of themselves in the third. However, Jurong easily took what they had to dish out and walked off at the third quarter leading by a massive 30 points (60-30).

With the game secure, Jurong eased up a little, allowing Chung Cheng to outscore them 17-14 in the quarter but it made little difference to the overall result as Jurong finished 74-54 winners.

Top scorers:
Johnathan (#8 Jurong) – 25 points
Qing De (#9 Chung Cheng) – 18 points
