RedSportsXI – 1,222 readers cast over 5,009 votes to choose their best 11 A Division footballers
April 24, 2008
RedSportsXI
POLLS CLOSED MIDNIGHT, FRIDAY, MAY 23.
Hi football fans and players,
The poll is over and before we get into the best 11 players, I must add that this poll is the most popular on Red Sports so far. As with all reader-generated polls, controversy abounds. Some have said the top 11 are not the best and are just a reflection of their popularity in school and mobilisation efforts by their friends. Well, so be it. No poll is perfect and if the best 11 were just picked by me and a couple of coaches, what’s the fun in that yeah? I’d rather let you guys do the picking.
So, here’s the RedSportsXI based on the votes:
Pierson Ang (#20, goalkeeper, Anglo-Chinese JC)
Adam Yuu Douglas (#26, defender, Anglo-Chinese JC)
Khairil (#23, defender, Meridian JC)
Gavin Lee (#13, defender, Victoria JC)
Fazli (#7, right-back, Meridian JC)
Mohamed Aswad (#10, midfielder, Millenia Institute)
Mahdi (#23, midfielder, Meridian JC)
Nathaniel (#12, centre midfielder, St Andrew’s JC)
Muhd Afrizal (#19, left winger, Jurong JC)
Alex (#10, striker, Victoria JC)
Chong Kuo Loon (#17, striker, St Andrew's JC)
So six schools have representatives on the RedSportsXI team. I think that’s a nice spread of schools and shows that no school has succeeded in spamming the poll in any great way. It also shows that there is talent spread out across the schools, players whose skills have impressed a wider selection of readers.
Out of curiosity, I decided I would list the next 11 players by vote. So here they are:
Alfred Yue (#1, GOALKEEPER, Jurong JC)
Lim Jun Liang (#5, defender, Victoria JC)
Matthew, (#3, defender, Meridian JC)
Warrick Wee (#7, right-back, Anglo-Chinese JC)
Luo Yu Kai (#18, centre-back, Anglo-Chinese JC)
Cedric Goh (#8, centre midfielder, Anglo-Chinese JC)
Nicholas Kang (#17, left winger, Victoria JC)
Jeremy Ong (#2, midfielder, St Andrew's JC)
Chester Lum (#16, midfielder, Victoria JC)
Anders Aplin (#9, striker, Victoria JC)
Daniel Kao (#14, striker, Anglo-Chinese JC)
If anyone can tell me what position Irwin Goh (#14, position?, St Andrew's JC) plays, he might warrant a position in the second RedSportsXI. I’ve left him out in the meantime because I don’t have that information.
So there you have it, the two best teams at A Division level according to the readers. Now, I don’t know about you, but I would pay good money to watch these two teams play. And if got to pick my players, I would add someone like Augustus Set (#7, midfielder) of St Andrew’s in my team cos that guy plays beautiful football. Augustus was a very late addition in the poll because he wasn’t nominated early by readers.
Although I only got to watch the semi-finals of the A Division, I was struck by the level of skill on display. It was a joy to watch. Also what was missing was all the nonsense you see from the English Premier League – diving, trying to get opponents sent off, arguing with the referee. Most players conducted themselves with decorum, dignity and manliness. My hats off to you.
So now, if you guys really want to watch RedSportsXI (A) vs RedSportsXI (B), and the players really want to play that game, hey, let me know. Maybe we can form a committee with 3 to 4 people and get this executed. I’m not doing this alone, that’s for sure!
Red Sports. Always Game.
uncle Les

are we allowed to vote more than once?
April 25th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
I’m not sure I understand your question but let me explain.
You can check off against a maximum 11 players’ names.
You then click submit.
If you check off only, say, 5 names, then submit your vote, the server will lock you out and you can’t come back tomorrow and vote again.
April 25th, 2008 at 11:16 pm
Vote for Alex and come down to VJC to watch his excellent performance.
April 25th, 2008 at 11:44 pm
This comment got deleted accidentally:
Park from JJC is Park Wonil not Park Won ll.
there is no Jian He #8 frm jjc boys soccer team. #8 of JJC is Chan Peng Xiang.
Ian’s number is not 16, its 24..
____
I’ve changed all accordingly.
April 25th, 2008 at 11:49 pm
how come before and after 10 ppl voted the result for Alex is still 45?
April 25th, 2008 at 11:52 pm
The vote is being done automatically by the code. There is no human error possible.
Once you have voted, there is no way to vote again.
April 25th, 2008 at 11:59 pm
I voted only once but I’ve asked about 10 other friends to vote at the same time. and I don’t see any increase in Alex’s number of votes. That’s why I was wondering.
April 26th, 2008 at 12:27 am
uncle les, what will the format be like at the end of the voting period? will u be doing a 4-4-2 formation and then place the names to the position? or will the top 11 be mostly strikers?
April 26th, 2008 at 10:06 am
To Alex Fan – I have no reason to doubt that the there is something wrong with the polling code. Let’s give it a few days? His numbers will go up, I am sure, as more people vote for him. I’ve used this polling code for the netball, volleyball, basketball and picture of the year contests and so far, it’s ok.
As for dunga’s query, the top 11 by POSITION will make up the 4-4-2 formation.
April 26th, 2008 at 10:16 am
heyyyyyyy ppl how 2 vote sia??? cannot find the poll liao!!
April 26th, 2008 at 10:34 am
Once you have voted, you cannot vote again. The poll disappears and what you will see are only the results.
April 26th, 2008 at 2:38 pm

April 27th, 2008 at 5:38 pm
Muhd Afrizal (#19, left winger, Jurong JC)
April 27th, 2008 at 6:08 pm
if votes are to be made on the basis of performances, then the current line-up that has been voted thus far shouldn’t stand.
great individual performers frm rjc and even sajc have been left out and i guess it’s becos they arent doing well as a team. if thats the case, then we should actually vote for even the injured, based on their reputation. and if i was the only one voting, it would go like this ;
GK : ACJC’s
Defender : ACJC’s no. 26, NJC’s no.4, MJC’s no.8
Midfielder: NJC’s no. 9 and SAJC’s captain.
Striker : too many!
April 27th, 2008 at 8:40 pm
ya… i think that the polls are not really accurate. Within JJ soccer team itself, some bench player have more votes than what my friends and i think are quality players
Some players with more than 10 votes doesn’t even exist in A Division football.
come on people vote for JJC player like Zachary, Kok Yao, Harrison and Brian. These are the quality players of JJC…I am very proud of them when i see them playing together.
April 27th, 2008 at 9:03 pm
VOTE FOR MALCOM YONG FROM ACJC!
HE WILL ‘ole’ EVREYONE ON THE OPPOSING TEAM.
April 28th, 2008 at 4:27 pm
VOTE FOR ACJCCCCCCC!!!!!!!!
sau chiu, daniel kao and dj are really good players!!!!
April 28th, 2008 at 5:48 pm
How come no coverage on B Division and C Division tournament?
The best players are palying in these tournament and not this overhyped A Division tournament. Lets face it, most of our future National players are playing in the B and C Tournament. Really would like to see more coverage for these players as they are growing up and lighting up the school soccer scene rather then reading about future accountants, doctors, lawyers etc masquerading as soccer players (some cant even kick the ball properly)
During my time in the 80s, when the VIs(Now called the ITEs) participated in the A Division, you will barely see any JC in the Q-F of the Nationals A Division (for a JC to qualify for the Nationals is already a big deal)
April 28th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
How come nobody sends stories on B Division and C Division tournaments?
This is a reader-generated site. If nobody sent it in, it’s probably nobody can be bothered.
And please, don’t put the JC folks down by accusing them of masquerading. I won’t stand for people putting other groups down on this site.
The irony of your accusation is obviously lost on you since you are masquerading as Zizou.
Unless it IS really you, Zizou … If it’s really you, we are honoured.
If you are just a Singaporean masquerading as a frenchman, then please, stop hounding the A DIvision boys.
April 28th, 2008 at 7:57 pm
joel tan jun hao isnt from dunman, he’s not even in a division. awesome player but from republic poly
April 28th, 2008 at 8:32 pm
lollipop.. which JJ BENCH player do u think have more votes than wad u think dey should have?
April 28th, 2008 at 8:37 pm
oh and FYI Kokyao is a bench player for now isn’t he?
April 28th, 2008 at 8:41 pm
oh.. Chan Peng Xiang of Jurong JC #8 should be a midfielder..
April 28th, 2008 at 8:43 pm
#8 Chan Peng Xiang of JJC is a winger , not a defender.
and zizou …
do you remember heavily criticizing on a team in orange usually playing matches at alexandra hospital during 2005-2006 ?
April 28th, 2008 at 8:50 pm
yea joel was initially from jjc during his first three months . its a pity jj dint keep him.
April 28th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
to the JJC fan who left his comment previously…
If i never remember wrongly the guy by the name of kok yao played against us on our first game. I thought he was quite good from the way i saw him fight tt day… he never gave up and almost came close to scoring. I heard from my soccer friends in the team, they said that he is a great player but didnt perform. Don’t feel offended jjc fan…i just saying my opinion. JJ has a great team from what i see. I oso rmb the no 7 winger and 25 African and his bro…all superb player and the no. 7 is one hot guy i heard. Who is Chan Peng Xiang anw is he really in the team?? Y harrison’s and Kok yao’s vote count so little, i think they both deserve more
April 28th, 2008 at 10:10 pm
Pls la although Kok Yao is a bench player…it is because of his stamina. Skills and experience wise he is fit to be on the top of the team
April 28th, 2008 at 10:15 pm
i saw JJC #10 play tt day…nt bad as a supporting striker.# 25 as well, piling pressure on us but where is our star striker #17 is he nt the best
April 28th, 2008 at 10:24 pm
to jjc fan who left ur comment earlier
From what i saw tt day…is kok yao the # 10 striker of ur school?? if he is than i think there must be sth wrong with the coach and the team for leaving him on the bench. My friends from ACJC almost thought that he is the key man of JJ. Is he injured so become bench player?? He was the man i was so afraid of watching when he got the ball…so threatening on the attack. The #7 and #25 as well. But ACJC is the best. GO AC…
April 28th, 2008 at 10:26 pm
jjc n lollipop,, hu r u guys man?
April 28th, 2008 at 10:43 pm
yea.. i agree wif u that kokyao is a veri good player.. he just lack stamina that’s why he’s on the bench i guess..
April 29th, 2008 at 10:10 am
HAHA ZIZOU IF U GOT YOUR FACTS RIGHT HWACHONG WON ONCE EVEN WHEN THE ‘VI’s or ITEs were in the competition. it was 10 years back if u remember. so thanks but no thanks, B div maybe a little less stamina, aggression and maturity. if you want to look at national team players maybe just head on down to the sports school for the u16 and u17 or clementi for u18 or maybe if u dare, jalan besar stadium for the real young lions. If the standards too high for you b div boys maybe go learn from the COE (centre of excellence) some even plying their trade in the A div
April 29th, 2008 at 7:53 pm
zizou has got a point there. if u notice, giving credit when due that other then MJ and SA when they are ABLE TO PASS THE BAL PROPERLY, most of the other jcs are pathethic when it comes to soccer. kick run push fall.
yes B division football is definitely less physical compared to A but if you look at the technical aspect… A div players or rather MOST of them have problems passing and stopping the ball. anybody can just be physically fit and strong and go around chasing the ball. but playing the game is a whole new thing.
of course there are exceptional players in the division which nobody can deny…but the rest…i still feel that they are not able to match up to the technical standard of the B division.
April 29th, 2008 at 9:09 pm
hi guys i’m a huge soccer fan and from what i’ve observed, sajc’s #7,17,12 and acjc’s #26 are right up there amongst the best footballers in a div.
and from what i’ve observed as well, only jjc’s nigerian striker, kokyao and ian chang are capable being voted in a div’s top 11.however,kokyao’s poor stamina and form have kept him on the bench for the last few matches thus i believe he’s out of the running.#7 from jjc is a fast runner but he’s not capable of putting in a worthy cross and his technique needs much improvement.kudos to his workrate and spirit tho..
April 29th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
and to ‘ jjc’,kokyao’s a really good striker but he needs better support from jjc players.
oh,technique wise you guys gotta have a look at sajc’s #7.he’s simply the paul scholes of a div football.
April 29th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
if you only have stamina but no skill you still suck what. like the acjc no. 22 can only run. the best midfielders i’ve seen so far in this tournament are acjc no. 8 and sajc no. 12.
April 29th, 2008 at 9:17 pm
I just deleted comments that were to me personal attacks on kok yao. Boy, if you want to make comments about kok yao, state your name like a man and maybe I’ll let your comments stay. If not, if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it.
Comments from readers like “an avid jc soccer fan” and “soccercraze” above are reasonable, balanced and rational.
I will protect ANY player on this site from being flamed.
As readers, you have the right to speak your mind but as the editor and owner of this site I have the right to make sure your crap doesn’t foul up the air in here.
April 29th, 2008 at 10:12 pm
thank you uncle les for the deletion of mean comments.(:
April 29th, 2008 at 10:38 pm
ok.. i apologise for those mean comments.. but to state the facts.. u still need the stamina to play in a div.. u may haf the skills but from what i see.. u are not performing as good as before..
April 29th, 2008 at 10:41 pm
and about the votes.. it’s more about seeing who’s more popular.. maybe only a few people are voted due to their performance.. so no need to be too worked up if good players are not in the top few..
April 29th, 2008 at 10:41 pm
you pathetic fools
decide to conceal yourself by putting in lame names like jj or avid soccer fan
why dont you address to all of us who you really are
stop being a coward
you may comment on players from the jj team
but do not insult them
i am sure you are not up to the level where you can judge people from the stands
because i am sure when you are put in the spot, you sure cant play for nuts.
state your name, and school
do not be a coward.
it just makes me sick
April 29th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
dont worry kokyao.
i still love u.
=)
April 29th, 2008 at 11:17 pm
Comments will sure be given when u see someone missing an open goal from the six yard box.. what’s more is when that someone likes to brag about his skills..
this kind of things are normal in soccer..
i dun wan to target anything at anione.. if not it would become a personal attack already. (:
April 30th, 2008 at 1:05 am
PPl…i know i had a bad game against TJC missing at 6 yard box and many one on ones. To those who have watched be play before, i know i am underperforming in the A div. But i believe everyone have their offdays or season. I know tt many of u think that from my performance against TJC, i am pretty lousy. But ur can say all u want and they will not affect my play. I still believe in myself and where i stand in the A div. If u seroiulsy think tt i dun fit to wear the JJ jersey…come to me, i pass u my jersey and u play in my place. There have been diff view abt me as a player, be it whether they are positive or negative. i will take them as ppl offering me ways tt i can improve and nt insult. Thnx to all who defended me and still show faith in me and thnx uncle les for protecting me.
April 30th, 2008 at 3:35 am
TO jjc.
come on la whoever you are..who are you to say that kok yao likes to brag about his skills? theres a difference between confidence and bragging. what kok yao does has got nothing to do with what he says. apparently it seems like you’ve never played soccer before eh.
try playing with the intense pressure of trying to score and the expectation of an entire school for you to score, playing in front of so many fans. lets see if you can even kick the ball let alone put it in the net from the six yard box.
April 30th, 2008 at 9:10 am
I commend Kok Yao for coming in here, stating his name for the world to see with courage and dignity, and making a statement that shows he is a man of humility and courage.
It is not easy to stand before an anonymous mob to speak.
At the end of the day, it is the man who takes the field with courage who is admired, and not those who sit in the stands and throw stones from the shadows.
So good on you, Kok Yao.
April 30th, 2008 at 12:59 pm
#12 nathaniel from sajc is the best midfielder i have seen in A division. plz vote for him
April 30th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
Hey come on. Every player make mistakes, C.Ronaldo also missed a penalty. From wad i see, Kokyao is a great striker. Yes he may have missed some open goals and one on ones so wad? It doesn’t show that he is a lousy player. With all the pressure and stress, mistakes will be made. We are TEAM JJ. So jjc, if u do not support ur own school, screw off. Dont come and insult others.
And Kokyao, don worry. Take it as an experience. I dono whether you bragging or just having a lot of confidence, but whatever it is, do ur best to get ur goals… haha..
April 30th, 2008 at 7:09 pm
referring to the above comment, acjc #22 does not lack in skill. he’s a pretty good or if you might say decent player so please dont judge or insult.
April 30th, 2008 at 10:54 pm
Hey…stop firing comments at kok yao. Everyone knows tt he is the top striker of JJ but really underperforming. Although i am dissappointed nt to see him do his trademark finishing(scoring) but i believe it comes with a reason. Has anyone of you playing in the A div this season experience the pain of playing football when you just lost someone so close to you. I think the chances are slim but unfortunately it happened to one of our stars, kok yao. His grandfather passed away two games into the A div and i believe tt really affected him. So stop firing comments at him especially those hurtful ones. Keep trying KY i’ll always be supporting you. GO….
April 30th, 2008 at 11:01 pm
Adding on to what i have said…i agree with the comment tt was previouslymade abt the pressure. Knowing tt u are the hope tt is gonna bring qualification to the team puts one under alot of pressure. TT happens at times and in this case to Kok Yao. So instead of insulting him i think the JJ fans should show him some encouragement to put him back on the track for his last game agst NJC this coming FRI. Gd luck team JJ i am proud of all of you.
May 1st, 2008 at 12:49 am
in my opinion some of the benched jj players like kokyao are good enough to earn a place in the starting eleven. however they are left on the benched because because of the coach’s selection policy. i believe that players from other schools have witnessed for themselves the quality that these players possess even though they have not been given much playing time. in my opinion, kokyao looks dangerous everytime he’s on the ball and has great control, offering much threat to the opponents. another jj player also came off the bench against acjc and crashed a freekick against the crossbar, being only centimetres away from an equalising goal. these players are great players and have been mostly impactful when brought on and have injected more life in the team. its a pity that players of their calibre are left on the bench.
May 1st, 2008 at 9:26 am
luk sau chiu of ac has overtook nicholas kang!!!! can you please change the top 11 positions
May 1st, 2008 at 10:59 am
Nick kang #17 is from Victoria JC. Not Meridian.
May 1st, 2008 at 1:26 pm
it shouldn’t be the “best 11 a division footballers” but rather the “most popular 11 a division footballers”. Honestly, with all due respect, Nicholas Kang, Anders and Gavin are better footballers than luk sau chiu, daniel kao and warrick wee.
May 1st, 2008 at 2:20 pm
Yes, it is true that any reader voting contest has an element of popularity to it. The only way to make it purely about football would be to have 2-3 football coaches sit down and pick the best 11.
That of course has its problems because readers will say the coaches are biased and have their favourites (who doesn’t).
And anyway, there is no fun in that. More fun to let everyone have their say rather than 3 old men making the decisions, right?
So have fun voting and try not to insult each other to death. The whole point of this exercise is to give student footballers in Singaopre some recognition.
May 1st, 2008 at 5:00 pm
yeah guess so. =)
May 1st, 2008 at 5:27 pm
I think A div football is less on skill but more on desire. Look at the likes of RJ last year, they ran their guts off and despite being technically deficient they got their reward.
I feel many teams would do much better had more tenacity and desire. I think ACJC are playing above themselves, when you look at their individual ability, i dont think they are as good as many JJ players with the exception of their key players. But they know what they are playing for and it shows through their results. Had other JCs have the history/tradition/heritage of ACS and Raffles, they would certainly fight doubly hard.
So for the likes of those not ‘deserving’ of being in the top11, they make it up with their effort.
May 1st, 2008 at 8:38 pm
So the consensus have been that Kokyao’s been really off form this year?yes, how could anyone reject this claim? To someone who used to be able to finish with aplomb, missing from 6 yard(not just once mind you..) is simply unacceptable. It seems that his place in jjc’s starting lineup is no longer certain and he’s displaced by a certain #14 striker.and lest you think that number 14 is a really skillful player, you’re wrong.he’s just a fighter of the ball and wins aerial challenges(think drogba, but with the skills of a primary 6 boy).So to all defenders of Kokyao, would you all disagree that kokyao’s been playing out of sorts this year?
and i’m not someone who knows kokyao personally and this is not a personal attack.i’m actually someone who’s really disapointed with the way kokyao failed to show his true potential to teh school and allowed his schoolmates to make a laughing stock out of him
May 1st, 2008 at 8:46 pm
yeah i totally agree with TheObserver, teams that show the most passion would most likely be the winners, they would work for everyball, and take each game like a final, so good job to acjc and rjc although you guys dont have the best of the best players, hope you guys win with your passion and desire. all the best
May 1st, 2008 at 10:11 pm
To birdwatcher.
I agree with you. It’s realli irritating that a good striker gets off form when u need him. Esp when he misses from the 6 yard box! But let’s juz be disappointed for a few seconds after his mistake and continue to support him. After all he is already down when he misses that shot. What he needs is for people to encourage him.
SO Kokyao, after so much… u are left with one game to prove everyone here wrong. All the best.
May 1st, 2008 at 10:29 pm
This is with regards to fixtures.
Anyone with fixtures, please leave them in the forum.
Volunteers and football fans want to know about your games but without that info, nobody can watch or cover your games.
uncle les, editor
May 2nd, 2008 at 10:27 pm
i have faith in you kok yao. you can do much better.
May 3rd, 2008 at 12:15 am
kokyao u r a good player, dun let all these silly remarks affect ur game.
for the sake of kokyao and this voting system on the best XI, i think there should be an end to this debate over kokyao and more focus on the remaining Adivision matches instead. that way, we ll be able to see who are the great players that really are capable of being in the best XI.
May 3rd, 2008 at 5:52 pm
voting aint gonna show us who are the better players of the tournament. acjc students are obviously more supportive of their peers than other sch students. For eg sub player like ‘kai shuin’ who nvr even started have even more votes than much better players from sajc vjc mjc. players from mj especially are overly underated and even njc & cjc. players from ac on the other hand are just simply ‘OVERATED’
May 4th, 2008 at 12:30 am
agreed
May 4th, 2008 at 2:06 am
MBJ sia acjc..
May 4th, 2008 at 1:47 pm
whats MBJ??
May 4th, 2008 at 2:55 pm
i have to agree with adivobserver. based on my observations on the games played in this year’s adiv tournament, its simply ‘unbelievable’ that 5 out of the top 11 players come from acjc. however, me unlike adivobserver do not make sweeping statements like acjc players are simply ‘overrated’. in my personal point of view, acjc keeper and no26 deserve a spot at top 11. the others just cannot make it. let me just conclude, their skills are just simply inferior to those of mjc vjc sajc and even some from jjc and nanyang jc.
May 4th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
honestly why do people even criticise ac? is it jealousy or is it that you havent seen the boys played before? nobody has a right to critic any players ‘overrated’ or whatsoever, the ac boys play with alot of passion to make up for all of your self-perceived ‘lack of skill’.
May 4th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
erm its dam obvious ure pro ac. however keep in mind tht they are not questioning the amount of passion or teamwork acjc players have. its a debate on who deserves a spot. u cant doubt tht players from other top soccer jc or even yjc players dont have the same amount of passion as acjc.
May 4th, 2008 at 8:00 pm
WELL SAID la neutralgay _ please read before even bothering to type can?
what is there to be jealous about AC? and come on la how can everybody NOT SEE how they play when the group stage of the A div is literally over. watching the game = not seeing them play?
and why is anybody not entitled to comment they are overrated? then why are you entitled here in this situation to comment that they are NOT overrated?
May 4th, 2008 at 9:49 pm
hmmm, junliang’s jersey is #5 and he is from VJC not RJC.
thanks.
May 4th, 2008 at 10:46 pm
I feel that football is a team sport. It doesn’t matter if one team has more skilled players than another. At the end of the day, it is whether 11 people can play together as a team that matters. One man doesn’t make a team.
May 4th, 2008 at 11:50 pm
i think in order to stop the inflammatory comments you should change to 11 most popular not best
May 5th, 2008 at 1:09 am
it’s astonishing how some of the acjc players got in the top 11,and how little of the sajc players made it into top 11?come on guys, vote for the better players and not your friends.where’s #7 and #17 of sajc?
May 5th, 2008 at 1:54 pm
I think abby shiek of TJC should be inside
May 5th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
uncle les gotta bthe coolest uncle ard. and hey you jocks dont think this is the most accurate poll is it not. afrizal from jjc makes a good winger. nathaniel from sajc’s quite an awesome midfielder. vote pour them!
May 5th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
daniel kao’s quite good too! okay actually it doesnt matter whose in the top eleven, soccer should unite people WHY ALL THE CRITICISM
May 5th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
who are you to say that sajc #7 and #17 are better than those acjc players? if you feel they are better then by all means vote for them. however, know that this is just an opinion of yours. everybody are entitled to their own opinions and that includes who they vote for.
May 6th, 2008 at 8:52 am
if people start watching soccer for SOCCER itself and not because the acjc guys are celebrated in school then perhaps the polling would be different.. and if you don’t think #7 and #17 of SAJC is good then perhaps you should start watching golf. but then of course you have a point saying that everybody is entitled to their opinion. exactly why the poll is so imbalanced is because you acjc people are entitled to YOUR own opinion ..which…intriguingly does not seem to be on the same wavelengths with even the neutral’s….do you think something is amiss here?
May 6th, 2008 at 2:15 pm
to be honest, dont know why u all even bother, let anyone vote for whoever they want, they might not understand football, but they still support their friend. lets jus be open minded.
May 6th, 2008 at 8:38 pm
Its natural tt everyone dislikes AC….bo bian la…. wad can we say… team AC is naturally good in everything… football, teamwork, fans support, cheering, looks……… too many to name……. thanks to all critics for letting AC knows how many ppl are jealous of this year’s dark horse…. one more thing, AC does not do well by pouring in tonnes of star players into the team, it is the AC spirit, the passion, the unity which brings them to where they are… oh ya, forgot to mention tt the coach also quite super, his hairstyle quite nice…. start noticing him ppl…
May 6th, 2008 at 9:37 pm
HAHA YES AC SOCCER COACH IS THE BEST!!!!!!! HE HOW COOL!
anyway people usually hate ac for the sake of hating ac. ac actually has very nice people we arent stuck up and all like what other people say. and anyway if you dont like our ac soccer boys then just dont vote for them, dont criticise them or anything they dont deserve it! actually no one deserves to be insulted so yeap
anyway most of the soccer guys actually dont even care about this so why is everybody so worked up! haha
May 6th, 2008 at 11:53 pm
hahah if you AC guys wanna go start your own fashin show or popularity contest… nobody is going to get jealous and all.. keep it within your own AC walls. but what we’re talking about here is soccer and apparently i dont think ACJC is the only JC in the A division so if we want to start comparing aspects not related to soccer ….then whats the point of this website alr?
nobbody is out here to criticize you guys. what we wanna talk about here is soccer not who is more popular and why AC is so good bla bla bla.
May 7th, 2008 at 9:23 am
babypooh_1505 intro lehx
May 7th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
everyone, this poll is about the top11 soccer players, not the top 11 celebrated personalities. Also, noone’s criticising acjc players but they’re just questioning why some of the supposedly better players from sajc.mjc, vjc and maybe even nyjc, hci or rjc arent voted in.even the most diehard of acjc fans have to agree that there are better players in other jcs especially mjc, sajc and vjc.let’s recall euro2004,greece were the most disciplined of all and worked their socks off as a team and won euro2004 as a result, but can we say that majority of the players should be in the top11?i doubt so.and noone’s jealous of acjc players for they have not won anything thus far,in the semifinals it’s everyone’s guess as to who will emerge from it victorious.so let’s all wait and see whether this year’s acjc team are really worthy of other teams being jealous of them.and yes credit to them, they managed to salvage results from seemingly lost causes such as their woeful secondhalf against jjc and nyjc.so kudos to their fighting spirit and teamwork
May 7th, 2008 at 9:16 pm
haha, some ppl in ac hates ac because they ostracize them..wonder why..
but yea jin yi (ac’s coach) is good..if he was coaching a team with better basics or had dsa, that team would have done better..
yess ac had no dsa and only 5 players have B div experience
May 7th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
the reason why ac looks good because they are in grp a. i don’t think they can handle either vj, mj or even hci if they’re in grp b.
May 7th, 2008 at 11:08 pm
@ aladin : huh why must I? Who are you btw?
May 8th, 2008 at 12:07 am
i beg to differ, the ac team look well organised and passionate, with a couple of dangerous players. they look like they can hold their weight against hci and mj, but the ball is round, will be interesting how they fare in semis.
May 8th, 2008 at 12:14 am
the soccer players themselves don’t even care for this voting issue
May 8th, 2008 at 6:44 pm
Does anyone know where the match between MJC and VJC will be?
May 8th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
mjc and vjc match will be on neutral grounds , njc
May 8th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
NO NO!! vj vs mj will be at JJC tmr at 3pm!! not NJ..
May 9th, 2008 at 5:17 pm
Oh thanks .
can someone pls tell me what’s the final score between vj and mj today?
May 9th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
oh so the ac coach is called jin yi…… wad a cute name….. oh…… i heard my fren say today VJ vs MJ score is 2-1…
May 9th, 2008 at 8:41 pm
vj 3-1 mj
May 10th, 2008 at 10:01 am
what jersey number is that chester lum wearing?is it 16 or 4?
May 10th, 2008 at 12:33 pm
16
May 10th, 2008 at 5:58 pm
civilians, vote for afrizal if u think he’s good!!!!
May 10th, 2008 at 11:08 pm
i think acjc is the lousiest team in the top 4. even MI is better. acjc players can’t even control the ball properly. i think it would be a total thrashing of acjc by vjc. vjc wouldn’t even need to field their first team. acjc seriously has no skill.
May 10th, 2008 at 11:51 pm
sweeping statement hardcorefan. LETS GO ACJ SOCCER!
May 11th, 2008 at 12:01 am
haha jonah
go ac!
May 11th, 2008 at 12:04 am
hey hardcorefan,
pls get ur facts right alright?! watch the soccer that ACJC SOCCER play! they how good, they deserve to be in the semis and are good to win it!
GO AC SOCCERR!!
May 11th, 2008 at 12:24 am
hmm.. if i’m not wrong #30 from Meridian Junior College is Ikwan. If that’s not him, i think he ought to be in the poll too =))
May 11th, 2008 at 1:38 am
VJC seems to be tipped to win the semis against acjc..maybe ac went to semis also by luck…but wat about vjc?they have a good fitness i heard?
May 11th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
the fact that ac is in the semi’s does show that they can play. u cant win 7 matches all by luck u noe? well, u can if other team cant play at all. but njc and rjc are known to have a few good players. and ac did beat them. i definately think that shows smth. even if they don’t produce results against vj, i thinks its understandable as they dont have any dsa’s. only 2 appeals and in total, only have 5 players that have played in B div. it’ll be a total joke if vj fails though. they have dsa’s, appeals and are known to be the power house for soccer. and to whoever hardcorefan is, i think u should think before u type. use your brain.
May 11th, 2008 at 11:23 pm
i think acjc have quality players despite only 2 appeals and no dsa. and i can be seen with their wins over respectful teams such as njc and rjc as mentioned by jonnie. they have good discipline as well, i think the only way to judge them is to go watch their matches.
May 12th, 2008 at 8:44 am
winning 7 games in a row DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE GOOD IT MEANS YOU ARE CONSISTENT…a very good example of consistency is chelsea.and johnnie, in case if its the first time you ever watched or played soccer, so what if nj and rj have good players? can 1 person win the entire game on his own? its a whole team effort in case you did not know.. so yes i applaude acjc soccer for consistency and overall team dynamics BUT I STILL AGREE with hardcorefan. although vj probably wont thrash acjc because acjc wont go down without a fight….and for T^2 maybe whay acjc soccer seems so awesome to you is because you’ve never watched other teams play?
May 12th, 2008 at 6:47 pm
at least ac’s better than the others who didnt manage to get into the semis
go pick on other schools
May 12th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
haha thats not the point la SOCCER ….why would i want to pick on any schools? if they are not good then maybe one or two players will appear here..but if AC IS NOT GOOD WHY THE HELL ARE THEIR ENTIRE TEAM PLUS SUB BENCH THERE? should we vote coach and principal too?
May 12th, 2008 at 10:28 pm
i guess many people are rallying votes and i can see fierce stocks battling up there @ 1st 11.
May 12th, 2008 at 11:25 pm
Ac qualified for semis because they were in a easier group.their only real challenge was sajc..im sure hci and mi can beat acjc if they were in grp a..lol..and acjc play by just pumping long balls up to their two physically humungous forwards.thats all.soo boring man.
May 12th, 2008 at 11:34 pm
lol..my favourite A DIV players are mj’s 23 and mi’s 10..both are exiciting to watch..and also vjc’s no13 who si really solid:)
May 13th, 2008 at 10:49 am
fan: i think we watching different acjc, their forwards only look 1.70 m in ht with probably 60kg of mass, is that humungous?
May 13th, 2008 at 2:28 pm
Can someone provide neutral views on ACJC Adiv soccer.I have’nt seen them played before. How they fared as compared to VJC,SAJC n MJC in terms of technical skill, physique and teamwork
May 13th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
whatever it is, i think that if not for 1 or 2 player’s brilliance, acjc would not even be in the semis. everybody else in their team are just average players that can run. it wouldn’t take much to take them out.
May 13th, 2008 at 8:30 pm
yall dun be so childish la.wats the point of arguing here if any of yall wun even be playing.let the players play their game and after that we judge how does each team performs.k?
May 13th, 2008 at 10:14 pm
heys. please make this amendment.
aliff, from Millennia Institute, his jersey no. is #15. not #7. there cant possibly be 2 people wearing the same jersey with the same number right?
)
his position right though.
thx!
May 13th, 2008 at 10:32 pm
who are the two players that helped ac to the semi finals?!
May 14th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
when is the a div finals?
May 14th, 2008 at 9:08 pm
Many ACJC player were featured in the vote for Adiv soccer as compared with MJC,SAJC and VJC,getting pretty high percentage.I supposed the team are good.Any comments.
May 14th, 2008 at 9:13 pm
thats because the whole acjc votes for them. or maybe they vote themselves and ask their friends to vote for them
May 15th, 2008 at 10:34 pm
sajc 7 and 17 owns the entire a div
May 16th, 2008 at 1:25 am
i think it’s unfair that everybody is picking on acjc’s soccer team. the fact that they have made it into the semis means something. whether they beat vj or not is another story. vj trains really hard and so the fact that they are consistent is like duh. whatever acjc lacks they make up for it in terms of their school spirit, passion, unity and discipline. give them a break. all these comments have crossed the line. it’s no more about soccer. it’s politics which is just plain childish.
May 16th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
why isn’t the sajc goalkeeper on the list?
May 16th, 2008 at 8:30 pm
joel mentioned voting for best a div coach…. maybe uncle les would like to put this into consideration…. quite a good suggestion…. but i guess in tt way ACJC will win votes for best coach as long as jin yi stays there…. as i mentioned earlier, he damn freaking cute la…. makes the crowd go wild at the sight of him and his cute hairstyle…
May 16th, 2008 at 9:30 pm
Well done ACJC Soccer. proud of every single 1 of u! Let’s play our best agst saints!
May 16th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
best coach should be the one from jjc,you can almost feel his passion from the stands hahahahaha ( jumping on the bench ala tom cruise, shouting at all his players so loudly that one can feel the tremor!)
May 16th, 2008 at 11:10 pm
please vote for nathaniel #12 from sajc. he’s really good!!!!!!!!! and #9 from vjc. and i must say #26 from acjc is the best defender i’ve seen.
May 17th, 2008 at 1:08 am
i strongly feel that vjc has one of the better strikers in A div. and ac has one of the best defenders. solid #26.
May 17th, 2008 at 9:48 am
Agree with facts, n not forgetting the better ones from other team. From the interest generated on ACJC#26 in the forum n chatbox, even though ACJC team didnt win, clearly #26 is the winner.
May 17th, 2008 at 11:20 am
# 9 from MJC is Daniel Guo. # 45 Navin is not even in the team.
May 17th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
kuoloon #17 sajc and augustus #7 sajc should be in the top 11 anytime tgt with acjc #26
May 18th, 2008 at 11:28 am
warrick lee? in the 1st XI? oh my… i saw him play against VJC and well.. i could say the way he played did not deserve to be up here with the rest… i wonder if its fans favourite or performance-wise.. maybe i’m wrong.. but he really played like… dun wanna mention.. but yup.. think twice, or even thrice.. abt putting him in the best XI
May 19th, 2008 at 12:07 am
vote for augustus sajc #7 he is one of the best midfield in A div
May 19th, 2008 at 3:29 am
i think mahdi of mjc has the best control in the a div. it is quite ridiculous how he can perfectly control long balls with one touch while running at full speed
May 19th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
i agree with uncle. look at the comments he generates. shows alot. he is amazing.
May 19th, 2008 at 10:02 pm
best 11 shud be: 4-3-3…. khairil MJC and Adam ACJC centre backs. CJC’s left back. Fazli MJC right back. Augustus centre mid SAJC. Left wing Mahdi MJC. Right wing Aswad MI. Anders VJC playing behind the 2 forwards coz his control is superb. and the 2 forwards, Kuoloon SAJC and Alex VJC. FULLSTOP. GOALIE, i dunno who’s good but but i think NJC, AJC and MI keeper is good.
May 19th, 2008 at 11:25 pm
uncle les!!!!!! we should have a friendly match with the allstars. it’ll be super cool. like, u can juz call up sch’s. ask these players to come down for a match against some team. niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
May 19th, 2008 at 11:43 pm
well, i think AC really deserve a place in the semis. i’ve watch them play, and i must say they really played their hearts out:) its just too bad tat they got beaten 4-1 by vj on friday, but come on! the first goal and the last goal by vj should not have been allowed! so controversial la.
and i think this year’s A’div soccer teams have got really really good players this year. be it AC, VJ, SA, or whicever school, the various school teams should be commended on their performance and not be railed upon by people on any forum such as this like tat.
May 20th, 2008 at 12:08 am
The all-star game is a wonderful idea.
Only thing is whether the players themselves are up for it.
If they are, I’ll go and find a sponsor to host the match.
May 20th, 2008 at 12:12 am
WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO
May 20th, 2008 at 12:27 am
YES YES..I AGREE..an all star game..maybe the all stars against the A DIV CHAMPS:)..or maybe the all stars against singapore u-17 or something:)..
May 20th, 2008 at 12:44 am
All star game sounds good! Dividing them up will be interesting… IF we do a All star East vs West.
VJ and MJ are clearly in the east. IfSA fall in there too….the Eastern all stars might become overwhelmingly strong. The west would have AC,MI and maybe RJ. Would the west side schools bring enough balance to hold up against the easterners? It would be a mouth watering match though.
May 20th, 2008 at 10:22 am
I think having this match would be a great idea.
East vs. West might be a more interesting match as well, as opposed to putting up a team ACJC (Best 11 A division footballers) against another team.
May 20th, 2008 at 12:15 pm
Hello, “johnathan tan” no.2 from vjc supposed to be “jonathan tan”. JO
May 20th, 2008 at 12:15 pm
Hello, “johnathan tan” no.2 from vjc supposed to be “jonathan tan”. JO
May 20th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
JON ROCKS : D
May 20th, 2008 at 7:08 pm
how about all stars from grp A versus all stars frm grp B..
May 20th, 2008 at 8:52 pm
lol..yea..a GRP A ALL STARS vs a GROUP B ALL STARS sounds mouthwearing!!!so uncle les,are u arranging a game?i really think u shud.i bet alot of people will turn up!!!
May 20th, 2008 at 10:00 pm
anyway uncle les,i think u shud like give a RED SPORTS trophy to the winner of the poll..haha..that’d be damn cool:)
May 20th, 2008 at 10:12 pm
to soccer supporter: whats with u and acjc? go pick on someone else, or maybe go vote for ur frens in other schools. its a vote from the public, hence there will be biasness.duh
May 21st, 2008 at 10:52 am
to “ball” there’s no need to be over sensitive about my comment. You failed to see that what I was trying to say is an all star match is a great idea, just not one that would consist of the “best 11 A div players” that were voted here. So you see, I already agree with you that there is biasness as the votes are from the public,. you just failed to see that. To “soccerfan”, your idea of a group A vs. group B all stars is a great idea, better than East vs. West.
May 21st, 2008 at 8:22 pm
haha. then all the stars would come from mj and vj wouldn’t it? and of cos they will win.
May 21st, 2008 at 8:33 pm
then lets have a limit then. 3 players per school or something. choose 16 players per group. 11 players and 5 subs.
May 21st, 2008 at 8:35 pm
grp A got good schools also wat.. ACJC, SAJC, RJC, NJC…. they have several good players. so its gonna be one hell of a match… GRP A all stars VS GRP B all stars.
May 21st, 2008 at 8:54 pm
haha okay. the limit was a superb idea
May 21st, 2008 at 8:55 pm
haha okay. the limitation of players from each sch is a superb idea
.
May 21st, 2008 at 9:00 pm
i dont think u should include so many players per team. 5 subs abit too much. i’m sure all would want to play n may lead to fights. so yeah. and maybe.. the all stars of redsports vs one player from each team. smth like that?
May 21st, 2008 at 9:33 pm
there’s no such person called sim rui jie in dunman. and Marcus Phooi (ACS International) is #13
May 21st, 2008 at 9:42 pm
Harrison deserves more votes!!!!
May 21st, 2008 at 9:51 pm
then surely all stars of redsports wins. seriously.
May 22nd, 2008 at 1:13 am
[...] http://redsports.sg/2008/04/24/redsportsxi-a-division-footballers/Â to vote for the MJ guys in our XI! support the Meridian [...]
May 22nd, 2008 at 9:15 am
whether ALL stars or not.. the ball is still round. it does not mean the ALL starts will win because we have to consider the fact if they can work together as a team in the first place, many good players now in the A div are not really recognized due to the fact that they cant work with their team or their team cant work with them. so it would be interesting to see this”ALL STAR match.
May 22nd, 2008 at 3:33 pm
i ask you ah? why navin #45 wasnt unleashed yesterday? i heard he very good. superb vision, touches and especially header!
May 22nd, 2008 at 6:51 pm
Oi Fang Jia Bin is from Meridian GIRLS soccer la. GUNDU or whatt?
May 23rd, 2008 at 11:37 am
WOW! winning the finals was really great.
DD
i think mahdi and khairil are the best!
mahdi runs damn fast while keeping the ball in perfect control.
how in the world he manages that, no idea. plus hes cute. hur.
khairil is the epitome of what a team captain should be like.
hes humble and respects everyone in the team, and he gives his heart and soul in every single match he plays. (:
VOTE FOR THEM!
May 23rd, 2008 at 8:37 pm

Gavin Lee (#13, defender, Victoria JC)
Jonathan Tan (#2, right-back, Victoria JC)
Asyraf (#26, left-back, Victoria JC)

May 24th, 2008 at 11:53 am
KUOLOON is cute?oh please.GET YOUR EYES CHECKED MAN.i see him in school everyday and he is nowhere near cute!
May 24th, 2008 at 12:14 pm
yes! joel should be inside! he’s super good and his kicks are AMAZING
May 24th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
haha
ya the vj keeper is damn good
he’s the reason why vj made it to the final
too pro ready i really think he’s the best keeper out there.
May 24th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
yes uncle les..i think u shud organise a game between the two teams..maybe u can send out letters to the schools of the players n get their availability for the game!!
May 24th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Why is dere onli 2 mj player in the 1st 11. Must b joke. The whole of MJ is veri good, technically i mean. Though sometimes, they are veri loud in sch, i tink they are a very cool bunch of ppl. I played street soccer with most of dem b4 and you shud just see how they play. Madi is like the most skillfull player i ever see! I tink dis boys deserve recognition because dey are always underrated as compare 2 vj soccer boys( who iheard from my vj friend is a very ya-ya-papaya ppl in sch ). mj soccer boys are jokers!
May 24th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
and i think nicholas kang of vjc is THOUSAND TIMES BETTER THAN THAT AFRIZAL OF JJC.i bet that guy got his friends to vote for him.i think there are much better playes around than him.with all due respect,im just stating my opinion.i mean the REDSPORTS X1 A looks fine except for the afrizal guy.i have watched both afrizal n nic kang.and nic kang will win afrizal hands down anytime.he sorta spoils the first X1
May 24th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
Hello MJC. While this voting is for the fun of it, it’s not a joke. Are you calling 1,222 readers who voted jokers? Think before you type.
As for organising the game, I think the players would have to express their personal interest to me first before I would even contemplating organising anything.
I would also need 4-5 volunteers on the organising committee.
So players, if you are interested, you can express your interest by leaving a note in this comments section and emailing me at les@redsports.sg
May 24th, 2008 at 8:38 pm
kuoloon is good looking. anw how come augustus set no7 not in? seems like he is sajc’s key player
May 24th, 2008 at 11:52 pm
if the best 2 teams are playing,
do put up a big headline on the web!
i wanna watch!
May 25th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
kuo loon is hot please..tsk~ my eyes are perfectly fine!
May 25th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
KUOLOON IS HOT?eeeeee.get real.you are prolly kuoloon himself calling yaself hot.
May 25th, 2008 at 11:51 pm
uncle les… that afrizal and mahdi, both left winger… so both cannot be in first 11.. so mahdi shud stay as left winger while maybe promote a centre mid into the 1st team. yeah i think augustus shud be in the 1st team.
May 26th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
hello mjc. this is a poll of 11 best footballers, not the 11 nicest footballers. so what if the mjc team has very nice ppl that you can play street soccer with huh? it doesnt mean anything. and you shouldnt say that vjc soccer boys are “ya-ya-papaya” just becase your friend says so. i’m sure your friend doenst know them personally. some of the players are my friends and they are really nice people even though they do seem a bit intimidating in a big group. but which big group of people doesnt look intimidating?
May 26th, 2008 at 6:13 pm
im an expert on football..lol..if there is really a match b/w these 2 teams even though not likely pls put it up
May 27th, 2008 at 12:16 am
Harrison (#25, striker, Jurong JC) is a class act of his own. check out this guy man. guess redpsorts have not really reach to all the JCs. you can see from the polls and comments that there are only few JCs that are active here.
we’ve to create much more awareness to more schools of the existence of redsports. i totally think this website is awesome.
May 27th, 2008 at 12:40 am
uncle les.. i think the match is a fantastic idea!
haha.. and i think that if the players are to play, the june holidays would be a great idea.. cos they’d still have their fitness and all.. so yea.. try to get sponsors k? kudos redsports!!
May 27th, 2008 at 1:51 pm
Well, no one has contacted me, neither the players or any readers to volunteer to organise it.
So I don’t think it will happen this year.
Nice idea though.
May 27th, 2008 at 9:17 pm
uncle les,i think it’d be great if like you sent a letter to the schools of these players and inform them about your intention to organise this game.and im sure the school would support the idea and get the player to participate and im sure the students would also be informed and they;d be more than interested to come and watch the game.im sure this would work.because maybe some of these players may not even know such a poll exisits.
May 28th, 2008 at 12:37 am
hey.. is anyone here related to any of the players? can ask them if they’d like to participate in this match? i think its a great idea and would go to waste if not executed.. so yea.. uncle les, try to get the field and jerseys?
May 28th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
you can try contacting the schools ?
May 30th, 2008 at 10:36 am
players from MJ are supportive of the idea. they’re ready to go. hmm but what about the rest eh? anyone knows them? can help ask?
May 30th, 2008 at 6:42 pm
I think this year may not be realistic. To organise this requires a few months of planning to do it right, so if you are interested to help out, you can sign up for the working committee for next year.
May 30th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
but uncle les,all the good players are in the team..they might not be playing in A DIV nxt yr..seriously,the redsports XI is a really strong team except maybe agustus from SA shud replace that afrizal guy.i really wanna see mahdi and aswad terrorising defences with their wingplay and alex and kuoloon finishing thee chances.its a really superb attacking team.please please organise a game.im sure they would even be willing to play end of the year.so yea.lets not let this chance pass us by.
May 31st, 2008 at 7:38 pm
i agree that agustus is good.i think afrizal shud play in this team. hes an excellent player but didnt have a chance to perform.i think the match is a great idea. we shud try to make it happen this year.
May 31st, 2008 at 11:12 pm
dont try leh.. lets make it happen ah.. get the guys to come down man!!! but right.. uncle les, the jerseys all how ah? field can be provided by any school that has the artificial pitch.. jj, nj, mj, vj, tpjc, sports school.
May 31st, 2008 at 11:53 pm
Aiyah, you guys still going on about this.
There are two things I will do for you:
a. get a sponsor for the jerseys
b. cover the game
The volunteer committee – no one has volunteered by the way – has to do the following:
a. contact all players
b. arrange the pitch
c. arrange for refs
Like I mentioned, I can’t do it on my own. If you guys REALLY want to see this happen, then, we need some action here.
I will only go and look for a sponsor only if there is a firm commitment on your part.
You can email me at les@redsports.sg if you can form a committee of 3-4 people to spread the work around.
May 31st, 2008 at 11:54 pm
Also, if you contact the players, it obviously cannot just be 11 players. You will need a squad of about 18-20 players and allow unlimited subs for the game so that everyone gets to play. No point coming down and sitting on the bench.
June 1st, 2008 at 7:54 pm
hmmm.. okay.. uncle les, how do we go about getting the subs? i mean.. how to choose? think players like gus should be in either squad A or B. hes not even in it considering the skills hes got so yea..
June 1st, 2008 at 9:17 pm
The easiest way to get subs would be to take the next 8 players based on votes.
As for Gus, I think nobody would object to him taking a slot in either team cos he obviously deserves to be there.
June 3rd, 2008 at 4:13 pm
all ac players are ready to go too. any other schs?
June 3rd, 2008 at 10:00 pm
cool. MJ and AC on already. can anyone contact the people from SA, JJ, VJ, MI?
June 4th, 2008 at 8:23 am
Vjc, tan_yew_hwee@moe.edu.sg –> email tan yew hwee bah.
June 7th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
so is the game still on??sounds really mouthwatering!!
June 7th, 2008 at 7:19 pm
should be.. we’re in the midst of getting the players. yea.. stay tuned.
June 13th, 2008 at 5:28 pm
i think it’d be a nicer if the all stars of group A vs all stars of group B..or else the redsports first XI vs redsports second Xi MIGHT BE ONE SIDED..so yea..
June 14th, 2008 at 1:33 am
plz lah u tink second XI tht lan ah???
June 18th, 2008 at 4:56 pm
i think redsports should just go with the fist plan. best eleven agianst second eleven. really hope it works out. will be an amazing match to watch.
July 20th, 2008 at 11:00 pm
uncle les.. is this match gonna be played? heard adidas gonna sponsor.. so i hope it’ll be played..
July 20th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
adidas is willing to sponsor, I’m willing to cover, but nobody has stepped forward to ORGANISE it.
August 23rd, 2008 at 9:08 pm
someone pls organise this mouthwatering game can?
September 1st, 2008 at 11:20 am
wow,i only just found out about this website a few days back.hahah.really honoured to be nominated.thank you to all =)
