Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Thursday, July 3, 2008 – Gail Chia (#75) from Raffles Junior College won the gold medal for the A Division Girls Long Jump event at the 49th Inter-school Track & Field Championships. The first-year RJC student came in with a jump distance of 5.12m, beating Hwa Chong Institution’s Ang Shi Ting and Hsien Li Jie. A former student of the Singapore Sports School, Gail came in second in last year’s B Division Girls Long Jump event where she had a jump distance of 5.02m.
Ang Shi Ting (#164) from Hwa Chong Institution won the silver medal when she had a jump distance of 4.96m. This was better than her jump distance of 4.70m last year where she came in third for the same event.
Fellow team mate Hsien Li Jie (#173) also leapt a distance of 4.96m but had to settle for the bronze after the count back. Li Jie had previously out-leapt Shi Ting at last year’s long jump event when she came in second with a jump distance of 4.87m.

Gailllll nice jump! Anyway I was wondering if anyone could explain what a countback is? Just curious.
Corrections are done. Thanks for pointing it out, asj.

I heard there were… ahem…3 shooters just for long jump? *shake head*
Photo 2 is Hsien Li Jie while photo 3 is Ang Shi Ting
sorry for that 🙂
the distances under the two photos of the hci jumpers should be 4.96, not 5.96
