Kallang Netball Centre, Monday, July 2, 2008 – River Valley High beat Dunman High 79-0 last week in an Under-17 Netball League game to continue their winning streak.
In the opening quarter, River Valley dominated possession with excellent footwork and accurate passing, the referees finding little fault in their play. The Dunman players, distracted and confused, had a height disadvantage against their River Valley opponents.
The River Valley players frequently stole back possession of the ball whenever Dunman attacked and many of the turnovers were converted into points. The game was dominated by River Valley’s Ximin (C) who played three quarters, while teammates Lee Yin (GA) and Li Xuan (GS) were accurate in their shooting with an almost 100% success rate. In just a matter of 15 minutes, River Valley established a 15-0 lead over Dunman High.
A heavy downpour came after two quarters, bringing some temporary relief for Dunman High. However, upon resumption of the game, River Valley’s scoring streak did not stop. Their good use of space and better position gave them continued domination.
While Dunman High showed some improvement, they were outplayed by the better passing skills of River Valley who denied them even a consolation goal.
