Monday, April 27, 2009 – Defending A Division football champions Meridian Junior College beat Tampines Junior College 2-1 to start the quarter-final stage on a winning note. Muhd Akhimullah (#9) scored for TPJC but it was not enough to stop the Meridians who secured victory through goals by Khairul Azmi and Hyder.

In the other Group B game, Raffles Institution edged Anglo-Chinese Junior College 1-0.

Losing 2008 finalists Victoria Junior College beat Anderson Junior College 3-0 with three goals from Alfred Ali, Alex (#10) and Chester Lum.

The other Group A game saw St. Andrew’s Junior College beat Innova Junior College 1-0 with the solitary goal coming from Benny Ng (#5).
