The recently concluded 50th Inter-Primary Track and Field Championships saw over 2,300 student athletes from 89 schools take part.

Here’s part 1 of a picture story of that event.

Zhang Jun Jie (left) of Red Swastika threw an outstanding 9.89m to demolish the field. An unlikely-looking shot putter, Jun Jie’s closest rival was Jordan Chia of St. Stephen’s School who threw 9.01m. “He’s small sized but he has got power, speed and strength,” said his coach Loh Chan pew. “He’s hardworking and in training, he throws more than 10m.” His teammate Tan Ming Yi (right) finished fourth (7.60m).
