After an absence of 15 years, the SCC Schools and Colleges 7s tournament will be brought under the Singapore Cricket Club International Rugby 7s umbrella. Beginning from this year, it will be held as part of the main tournament and will be held over the same weekend.
24 under-16 and under-18 teams will battle it out for the title. Making their debut at the tournament will be Nhulunbuy High School from Australia, the reigning Territory 15-a-side champions for 2009.
Another first at the SCC 7s – the qualifiers for the Women's Rugby World Cup XV's 2010 will be played under the SCC 7s banner.
Hosted by Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU) and the Singapore Rugby Union (SRU), top teams Kazakhstan, Japan, Hong Kong and our very own Singapore team will fight to win a place in the 2010 RWC Tournament to be held in England.
The 1st round of qualifiers will be held at Republic Polytechnic on Wednesday 4th November.
Fans can expect to see some very high-quality rugby action during the finals which will be held at The Padang on Friday, 6th November.
