Singapore to host Asian 5 Nations First Division rugby in 2010

Thursday, September 17, 2009 – Singapore Rugby Union has been selected by Asian Rugby to host the HSBC Asian 5 Nations (A5N) First Division Tournament in 2010.
Singapore will host Malaysia, their opponents in the first game, Sri Lanka and Chinese Taipei in April of next year.
The winner of this tournament, played on a two semi-final basis followed by a winners and losers play off, will be promoted to the top Division of A5N.
Singapore played in the top division of the A5N this year but finished last in the five-team championship to fall back into Division 1. Singapore lost their games against Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and Kazakhstan.
