I think they can change the names all they want and it wouldn't make any difference.

Singapore is not so big that its people identify themselves by the area they live in.

Maybe they identify themselves by the food stalls they patronise:

"Wah, you know the Punggol nasi lemak, I drive all the way from Jurong to go eat, man!"

You never hear Singaporeans talk about S.League clubs like that. Well, at least I haven't.

Despite having 12 S-league clubs, there are only a few clubs that are community-area based. These clubs are namely Tampines, Woodlands. As such few fans feel a bond to support their clubs. My suggestion would be for Geylang to change their name to Bedok International, Gombak United to Jurong Gombak, Balestier to Toa Payoh Balestier, Sengkang Punggol to Hougang Punggol. And how about a club in Clementi, perhaps Clementi West Coast.

bring back Jurong FC, would love to see the Cobras back in the S-League. supported them when they were still in the league with players like Rafi Ali, Bashir Khan, Samawira Basri and notably the Brazilian duo of Fabio Da Silva and Fabio Veloso.
