great article, we should also note that the sub 22s timing was run against a 1.8m head wind.. also seng song’s 21.4 is hand timed, which is not only outdated but also always much faster than electronic timing.

@Kenneth – Hey, thanks for highlighting that. You are right. I just checked the SAA website for the SEA Games selection criteria. The bronze mark for the women’s javelin in the previous Games (the pre-requisite for selection to the SEA Games) was 39.74m so with her 40.23m effort, she has met that mark. But since it’s outside of the qualifying window (closed 2nd August), it is up to SAA to appeal her case as you said.

Hey, I think Hui Juen met the SEA Games qualifying mark with her 40m javelin throw. But it’s up to SAA whether they wanna appeal for her.

@colt: No seriously. Tell me. What video is there? Probably shot on some mobile phone or even if it’s on decent video camera, by the time it’s uploaded, it’s not so clear. That’s assuming there is even video to begin with.

When you read about it, you imagine it. And nobody ever imagines pixelated video. It’s sharp as a pin in your imagination.
