SINGAPORE, 17 November 2009 – The Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) and PSA have signed a sponsorship agreement, under which PSA will be the Official Maritime and Shipping Sponsor for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) to be held in Singapore in August 2010.

PSA will work with SYOGOC's appointed logistics service providers to facilitate the handling of containers carrying Games-related equipment coming by sea to Singapore from over 200 National Olympic Committees. In addition, PSA will provide billboard space to promote Singapore 2010 along Keppel Road and Tanjong Pagar Road. The prominent billboards will increase visibility of the Games and generate more buzz for this eagerly-awaited event.

The Chief Executive Officer of SYOGOC welcomes PSA's support. Said Mr Goh Kee Nguan: "We are delighted to partner PSA as our Official Maritime and Shipping Sponsor. With PSA's vast experience in container terminal handling, we can be assured that containers will be handled in a professional and efficient way. This complements our vision to successfully stage the inaugural YOG and we value PSA as our partner."

On PSA's support of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games, its Chief Executive Officer for Southeast Asia and Singapore Terminals, Mr Kuah Boon Wee, said: "As a Singapore icon ourselves, PSA is honoured to partner the SYOGOC in bringing the world's first YOG to Singapore, indeed a milestone in our nation's history."
