Catholic High beat Kuo Chuan Presbyterian 67-32 in B Div Boys South Zone Basketball

CCAB, Tuesday, January 27, 2010 - Catholic High kept themselves in the driving seat after beating Kuo Chuan Presbyterian 67-32 in a Round 1 match of the B Division Boys South Zone Basketball Championship.

They are now on top of their group with six points with one game in hand. They face bottom placed Anglo-Chinese School (International) next, and look set to book their place in Round 2.

Catholic High started off strong in the first quarter, notching a 20-5 lead after 10 minutes. The CHS #6 contributed a total of eight points in the quarter, whereas Kuo Chuan struggled to find their footing.

The second quarter saw a similar situation as the CHS #4 and #14 took turns to put their name on the scoreboard. Kuo Chuan could not find an answer to the onslaught and went into half time trailing by 30 points.

In the second half, Kuo Chuan succeeded in holding off Catholic High, as they put in 10 points compared to Catholic High’s nine.

Trailing 21-50 at the start of the fourth, Kuo Chuan managed to outscore Catholic High 17-11 in the final quarter.

Kuo Chuan’s #12 contributed seven points, with one three pointer at the end.
