T-Net Club @ Bukit Merah (TNC@BM) capped a successful 2009 with another title when they edged Tagawa 60-56 in the final of the U-15 Milo Basketball Youth Championship.

The final, held at the Singapore Basketball Centre on Sunday, 13 December 2009, was between the only two remaining undefeated teams among the 38 teams who took part in the competition.

The exciting final was a close and tense match, with both teams displaying gritty and organised defence throughout the game. But TNC@BM pulled away near the end, led by their quartet of national youth players, who knuckled down and displayed great tenacity to perform clutch plays at pivotal moments.

The performances of the TNC@BM team, comprising of Delvin Goh, Remus Low, Peter Soo and David Soo, put up a good fight despite their missing players. The team did not let the lack of players affect their fighting spirit, and they bonded closer together throughout the month-long competition.

Coach Guang Fu was ecstatic at the team's performances and said, "Delvin and Remus have the potential to be very good national players in the future. I hope that the team learnt not only to thrive in basketball, but also in their studies."

He was also thankful for the support that the club had given. "TNC@BM provided us the basic necessities, which allowed us to concentrate on the game, and concentrate our passion on the court," he added.

And how did the boys react to the win? Centre Delvin Goh summed it up best, "What more could a player want? Winning a tournament with your best friends - It's just priceless!"

Up Close and Personal with the 2009 MILO U-15 Basketball Youth Cup Champion

After dominating the recent 2009 MILO U-15 Basketball Youth Cub, we caught up with some of the players, to get to know them better.

Guys, please introduce yourself:

Peter Soo Zheng Yi: Hi, I’m Peter. I've a twin brother, David, who introduced me to basketball when he pulled me in to play Street basketball when we were young. That was what started my passion for basketball.

David Soo Zheng Jie: Hi, I’m David. I’m Peter’s twin. I love playing basketball, even when I sleep at night, my dreams are about me playing basketball!

Remus Low Weng Hon: I’m Remus, and Basketball is my first love!

Delvin Goh Kok Chiang: Hi, Delvin here. I’m probably the best dunker here amongst the four of us.

So, how long have you guys known each other?

Delvin: Remus and I have known each other for about nine years since we were in primary school.

Remus: And we got to know the twin brothers when we entered Unity Secondary School together.

So who has the most "Star Player" attitude?

All at once: Remus Low, definitely!

Haha. And who has the most luck with girls?

Remus and Delvin: The TWINS! They’re the better looking ones!

Peter: No way! I think we all have our' moments' with girls, equally!

Complete this sentence; "In 5 years, I will be…"

Delvin: A national player!

Peter: Playing for the national team.

Remus: A national player!

Wow. Did you guys rehearse the same answer?

David: No, I think it is because all of us share the same love and passion for basketball, and we share the same dreams. That's what bond us together!

Ok guys. Let’s wrap this up. Any shout-outs to your friends or family?

David: We love our family!

Peter: Thanks for letting us join basketball and all your support.
