It’s that time of the year – time to nominate your athlete of the year!

For this year, the bar has been set higher.

So how does an athlete get nominated?

To nominate an athlete, please state why he should be nominated. The reason is up to you.

After you nominate you, the Red Sports crew will take a look at the list and determine who should get into the final list for the readers to vote on.

So who deserves to be the 2010 Red Sports 100PLUS Athlete of the Year?

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum age: 13 (Secondary 1)
Must be current school player
Athlete or team must be in one of the following competition: A, B or C Division; Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP); Polytechnic-Institute of Technical Education (POL-ITE)
Sport must be recognised by either one of the following bodies: Co-Curricular Activities Branch (Ministry of Education), IVP Sports Council, POL-ITE Sports Committee

Nomination Period
April 7th – August 28th, 2010

What happens after the nomination period?
After the nominations come in, athletes who meet the criteria will be put into a poll where readers can vote for who they think should win the award. The poll will begin during the second half of the year. We will announce the start date later.

What happens after the voting?
The athletes and team with the highest number of votes will be recognised by 100PLUS and Red Sports at a special event.

    He came back from a serious wrist injury that he had suffered earlier this year to win Faldo Series Singapore Championship and also the Singapore Open Amateur Championship, which earned him a spot in the Barclays Singapore Open. One of the biggest golf tournament held in Asia. Besides these great accomplishments he also placed 1st and second respectively at the HSBC Youth Golf Challenge 3rd and 2nd Legs. At such a young age he has accomplished feats that many established amateur golfers in Singapore were not able to achieve while playing they were at his age.
