Sunday, January 8, 2012 — The 2012 Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) Football Championship kicked off this month.

In the first round, 2011 winners Temasek Polytechnic (TP) will face Republic Polytechnic (RP), Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Singapore Management University (SMU) in Group A.

TP beat the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) 1-0 in the 2011 final.

ITE will battle Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Polytechnic (SP), Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) and the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) in Group B.
