Kallang Netball Centre, Wednesday, February 8, 2012 — CHIJ St Theresa’s Convent managed to clinch their first win for the South Zone B Division Netball Championship season when they beat Bishan Park Secondary 21-18.

St Joseph’s Institution (SJI) International ended their debut South Zone season with 1 win and 3 losses when they beat CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) 54-7 in their final game.

In Group C, Raffles Girls’ School qualified for the next round as winners of the group. There was a three-way tie for second between Chong Boon Secondary, Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary and Outram Secondary. Chong Boon and Outram lost out to Kuo Chuan after taking into account the head-to-head results between the three teams.

Kuo Chuan beat Chong Boon by 11 goals but then lost to Outram by two goals. Outram beat Kuo Chuan by two goals but lost their game to Chong Boon by 13 goals which allowed Kuo Chuan to pass through to Round 2 because of their +9 goal difference was the best among the other two teams.

Cedar Girls’ Secondary, CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) and St Margaret’s Secondary topped their respective groups while Fairfield Methodist School, Singapore Chinese Girls’ School and Ang Mo Kio Secondary qualified for Round 2 as group runners-up.

The C Division also saw RGS, CHIJ, Cedar Girls’ and St Margaret’s topping their respective groups. The runners-up that qualified for Round 2 are Outram, Fairfield Methodist, Guangyang Secondary and Ang Mo Kio.
