Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Thursday, March 29, 2012 — Singapore Sports School’s Benjamin Ong won the Boys’ B Division Long Jump with a personal best leap of 6.60m at the 53rd National Schools Track and Field Championships.

It is the seventh best B Division jump in the history of the national schools championships.

The record of 6.79m for the B Division Long Jump was set in 1995 by Tan Lin Keat of The Chinese High School.

The 16-year-old will also be taking part in the triple jump, where his personal best of 14.43m registered last month is further than the current championship record of 14.19m which has been standing since 1991.

Yusuff Abdul Rahman Mohd Yusuff Fazil of St Joseph’s Institution was second with a 6.24m leap while Nathaniel Foo, also of SSP, was third with 6.12m.
