Singapore youths try out sailing, wrestling and basketball at satellite centres
Following the recent $2.5 million pledge by the government to develop Satellite Centres for Sports Development (SCSDs), the Singapore Sports Council’s (SSC) Let’s Play movement was given further impetus with the commencement of operations of three SCSDs this weekend.
SNOC selects another 22 athletes for Youth Olympic Games
The Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) announced a second list of 22 athletes who will represent Singapore at the upcoming Youth Olympic Games.
Government pumps in S$2.5m to promote youth sports
Youth sports in Singapore received a huge boost today when the Singapore Youth Sports Development (SYSD) committee unveiled its plans to have up to 26 Satellite Centres for Sports Development set up for selected sports that will be featured at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games over the next two years.
Singapore hold Friendship Games in YOG trial run
Singapore will see some 600 athletes from more than 20 countries competing in the Friendship Games – a series of national and international level competitions in the month of January.
