The quarter-final round of the National ‘B’ Division Basketball Championship kicked off yesterday at Clementi Sports Hall.  The Red Sports squad was unable to make it down to the west side, but we’re thankful to have a spectator-reader who kindly contributed a story over email.  Thanks to "anonymous-and-would-like-to-remain-that-way"!

It was definitely a tight match. New Town were leading in the first and second quarter, and by the end of the second quarter, New Town were leading by four points.

Seng Kang, obviously dissatisfied, fought hard for their victory and by the end of the third quarter, took over the lead. New Town’s number 9, the playmaker, despite not playing up to his standard, did continuous one-man-layups to catch up, and so did number 12 with all his three point shots.  A few of them weren’t performing up to their standard and I would know because I’ve been following New Town’s matches.

It was a very exciting match with a lot of fouls drawn. Frankly, I think New Town could have won with a little more luck, it just wasn’t their day. Seng Kang, on the other hand, also fought very well.  If you didn’t catch this match, then you should regret it. 😉

Editor’s note:  Yes, we guess we kinda regret not catching the game.  Hey, we’d like to catch all games but you know we can’t.  So, please do keep the contributions coming in!   Appreciate them.
