St Andrew’s Junior College vs Pioneer Junior College
Wednesday, 17 April 2007 at Delta Sports Complex
Boys: St Andrew’s Junior College 4 – 2 Pioneer Junior College
In the second game for the Saints, PJC was cautious and stayed defensive at the start. The first goal for the Saints came from a penalty corner when Timothy struck a ball into the goal from the top of the D. The first half ended 1-0 in a fairly contested match. In the second half, Martin Phillix who scored in the previous game went on to score another for the Saints. The game seemed to be over for PJC when Ivan Tay, a current youth national, put in the third goal for the Saints. PJC then sprung a surprise by scoring in two quick counter-attacks within minutes to put the score 3-2 and got the Saints back on their toes again. However, the win was sealed when Timothy scored his second with another hard hit in the last minute of the game.

St Andrew’s Junior College vs Tampines Junior College
Thursday, 19 April 2007 at CCAB
Girls: St Andrew’s Junior College 5 – 0 Tampines Junior College
Another big victory for the Saints in the first round of matches. The SAJC boys team had also beaten TPJC by the same scoreline on Monday. The girls simply showed class by wrapping the game up early in the first half with a 4-0 lead. The coach then decided to field a second string side which went on to hold the lead and added another goal to make the final score 5-0. This SAJC girls team have been sensational so far. Although still too early to predict, it is easy to picture them in this year’s finals.
