Hovering around 4m for her first two jumps, Ray Nee exploded on the last jump to hit 4.21m. Her closest challenger was her schoolmate Ang Jia Yun . Jia Yun went from 3.48m in her earlier jumps to capture second spot with 4m in her final jump.

When I asked 12-year-old Ray Nee what she thought of her winning performance, she candidly said, "Lousy! Because my personal best is 4.4m which I achieved last year." Ray Nee, who trains three to four times a week, came in third in the recent Akira Swift Track & Field meet with a jump of 3.98m.
Kimberly Pang of Katong Convent came in third with a jump of 3.96m while Cherilyn Lee of Kong Hwa School came in fourth at 3.95m.
