Knowing that a win would put them through to the next round, the Catholic High boys appeared to have left their bats at home as Pasir Ris Crest held them scoreless in the first inning with some accurate pitching and good fielding. It was only in the second inning when the Catholic High boys started to get their hitting going. Wee Kian (#37), Kayue (#29) and Zheng Peng (#3) did not disappoint with their three-base hits, contributing much to the eight runs that were scored.

Catholic High’s Jerald (#73) got into his pitching routine and rendered his Pasir Ris Crest counterparts helpless in the batting box. He continued his fine performance with another three-base hit in the third inning, with teammates Timothy (#52), Wee Kian and Terence (#56) all scoring for Catholic High to lead 12-0. Pasir Ris Crest struggled to make any contact with the ball with the exception of Micheal (1) and Zafran (26). However, the Catholic High infielders were equal to the task and managed to relay the ball to first base man Terence in time.

Another three runs were scored in the fourth inning before the changeover, but the subsequent three batters from Pasir Ris Crest were unable to make any impact. With the conclusion of the fourth inning, Pasir Ris Crest conceded the game with a score of 15-0. The coach was nevertheless proud that his young charges were able to keep the scoreline down as they lost heavily in the corresponding fixture a year ago. With the win, Catholic High assured themselves of a place in the next round with a remaining game to play on Wednesday.
