Rugby powerhouse St Andrew’s Secondary marched imperiously into the Final of the National ‘C’ Divison Championship with a 61-0 victory over Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road).
By the end of the first half, the Saints were leading 32-0 with six tries and one conversion. Another 29 points in the second half through five tries and two conversions sealed the victory. In their three second round games, the Saints scored an average of 56 points and gave up just three points to Pioneer Secondary in a 62-3 victory.
Saints will now meet Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) in the Championship Final scheduled for Monday, 20 August, 4.30pm at Yio Chu Kang Stadium.

haha…
rubbish..this years ac C div has played against the last years WINNING team…
and only have lost by 1 or 2 tries…
so its gonna b a very tough job 4 u…
if i even think of beatin us…
go AC…all the best
yea RI gt one.i tot its like astroturf like those hockey ones..tt one i hvnt see..n i tot acsi one fr soccer?
n oso….i tink d saints team tis yr is alil diff frm d prev ones..n acsi tis yr(sorry to say) not as WOW as last yrs…
sorry…
but our C div team have beaten yours at least three times in various competetion…
n u were feildin ur first team against out first and second team…
Saint1862: No lah, RI really got an astroturf pitch and it feels really good running on it. Aside from Japan, HK has 2 astroturf pitches at Kings Park and Hong Kong Football Club, which they used to host the Asian Rugby World Cup Qualifiers late last year and Asian Tri Nations in May. But that’s really great news for you guys, as it saves on maintenance costs and limits any form of field closures. Good move forward for Saints!
Good luck Saints, it’s gonna be a tight final!
Let’s wait and see.
Pride comes before destruction.
🙂
acs is definately gonna win this years C div….saints no kick already….
As I understand, though ACSi has an astro turf, it is not a rugby pitch and the astro turf is also actually not specially designed for rugby and from what I’ve seen at matches at ACSi, the rugby pitch where the games were played is not artificial field.
Maybe you could check it out and clarify?
🙂
lol the difference is 2 rugby post haha. anyway acsi has an astro turf with rugby post. sorry to spoil it for you guys heh.
To Conspiracy:
Nope, if i’m not wrong, Raffles don’t have artificial RUGBY field.
To =(
previous years when we won the B-Divisions, we were also the underdogs, we win semis by 30 over to 10 over with ACS winning by a much bigger margin, but we still beat them in the final for 3 years. In 2005 C-Div Final, ACS was the underdogs, but they still won and retained their title. Look at SAJC vs RJC, Saints were down 10-3 at the last 6th minute and we were the underdogs, but we still manage to turn the table around to win 15-10.
Playing in ‘blue-and-white stripes’ in the Final is different from playing in ‘2 white strips, blue’ in other matches. Saints fighting spirit is (usually) only unleashed at the FINAL.
So let’s watch and see! Too early to conclude anything. but at least I can say, ACSi C-Div team have Saints.
huh,..St Andrew’s first in Singapore to have artificial rugby pitch?…gees..i thought RI had it already.
oh…n my friens frm acs tell me they beat their last year seniors…

Yau not Yao.
St. Andrew’s Village is gonna have an artificial Astro Turf Rugby Pitch by January 2008.
The first in Singapore! and possibly in the region!
So far in Asia only Japan got artifical rugby pitch.
Yep. High chance of Saints winning this year. Much support this year too!
