A taller River Valley High team eventually prevailed over a plucky Telok Kurau Secondary 36-29 in a first round Group G match played at the Singapore Basketball Centre yesterday.

The match was close all the way up to the third quarter, with River Valley leading by a slim 24-21 score line.
However, River Valley used their height advantage in the fourth and final quarter to win the battle for rebounds. That gave them extra chances at the basket, resulting in a final 36-29 win.
Chen Weixiang (#10, Telok Kurau) top scored with 12 points for his team.
