Ice skaters from Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Macau, Hong Kong and China will be coming to compete against the best in Singapore. Admission is free! Even if you can’t skate, come and cheer for our local skating stars at Skate Singapore.
Look for Singapore National Juvenile Ladies Champion Ng Yi Ching and 2007 National PreNovice Ladies Champion Alexandria Wong (currently in the running for Singapore Sports Idol – see www.teamsingapore.com.sg) trying out new programs as well as a slew of skaters from different schools in Singapore.

Skate Singapore is sanctioned by the Ice Skating Institute of Asia (ISIA) and hosted by Fuji Ice Palace. This year's event will mark the 12th consecutive year that the competition has been held in Singapore.
Singaporeans teens and 'tweens have taken up ice skating with a passion. In June this year, some 260 skaters from 65 schools competed in a record 181 events at the 7th Annual Inter-School Skating Competition at Fuji. More than 500 skaters and spectators squeezed into the arena to watch age-group skaters compete solo, with partners and in massive team productions.

At Skate Singapore, watch for up-and-coming competitors from Henry Park Primary School. Henry Park scored a decisive victory at the inter-school competition in June, winning the title of School Champion for the third year in a row. With 94 skaters entered in the competition, Henry Park brought home a ton of medals, or more precisely 69 golds, 55 silvers and 36 bronzes.
Ten-year-old Cheryl Tan from Henry Park finished the overall competition in second place, having earned 55 points. Henry Park was the first school to establish an ice skating Extra Co-Curricular Activity (ECCA) in January 2004.
Among the schools sending skaters to the inter-school competition this year were Anglo Chinese School, Red Swastika, Methodist Girls' School, Shuqun Primary School, St. Margaret's Primary School, Raffles Girls' School, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, United World College of South East Asia, the Singapore American School and, of course, Henry Park Primary School.
