Your views have been heard! After 1228 votes, the results are finally out.
In the B Division Boys category, Catholic High emerged the hot favourite with a whopping 110 votes. Anglican High takes second at a distant 60 votes while Presbyterian follows at third with a close 59 votes. Jurong Secondary finished fourth with 43 votes. Clearly Catholic High are touted to be the champions again. Upon analysing the votes, Catholic High received 74 votes for first, whereas the next closest team Balestier Hill had only 20 votes, a choice that left some readers bemused.
Wrote an unnamed reader: “How come there are so many people who voted for balestier hill??? is this a joke??? nvr (sic) see them go in national before. and when i saw them play basketball, no offence balestierian some of them got attitude problems and have no discipline on court. i watched the c boys play catholic high this year and sadly the way i lk (sic) at them some of them dun (sic) even know how to dribble… :(:(”
However, an unnamed Balestier Hill player left the following message in the comments section below: “Thx for all who vote (sic) for my school but sadly even me as a player of the school team doesnt (sic) think that my team stand a chance to go anywer (sic) near the top 4 bcos of lack of training given by the school and 2ndly bcos of the lack of discipline the seniors have.”
In the B Division Girls category, readers see Raffles Girls’ and Anglican High as the likely National Championship finalists. In a close vote, Raffles Girls’ took first place by one vote over Anglican High at 48 votes. Unity secured third with 38 votes while Jurong had 24 votes.
Catholic High topped the C Division Boys category again with 40 votes to take first. Anglican High finished second with 34 votes while Unity and Presbyterian complete the Top 4 list with 32 and 27 votes respectively.
Anglican High took first place in the voting for the C Division Girls category with 43 votes. Dunman Secondary came in second with 38 votes and were followed close behind by Raffles Girls’ with 35 votes and Unity Secondary with 33 votes. Judging by the votes, these four schools are the hot favourites to be in the top four as fifth-placed Chung Cheng High (Main) only got 8 votes.
After the Dr Fatimah Cup and the Yuying-adidas Invitational League which allowed the teams to prepare for the season ahead, all teams are now finalising their final squads and gearing up for the start of the season. Will the final outcome be what you have predicted? Let’s sit back and watch. 😉
