Hi volleyballers,
Your views have been heard. The arguments in the comments section reflect the honour at stake in the upcoming 2008 Inter-School Volleyball Championships.
In the Boys’ B Division, St Hilda’s have emerged as the overwhelming favourite to capture the 2008 Championship title with 50 votes. Tipped to take 2nd place is Catholic High with 44 votes. However, Shuqun is not far back with 42 votes while North Zone favourite Xinmin is expected to take 4th place with 35 votes. A heated battle had gone on for some time with regards to Catholic High and Shuqun. Having given everyone a preview of their skills at the recently concluded U-16 championships, some readers were in disagreement as to which school would prove the best. It is going to be a hard fight as the teams have been feverishly brushing up their skills and going through intensive trainings during the December holidays. Definitely something to watch out for!
In the Girls’ B Division, Presbyterian High is a clear favorite to win the Championship. With 36 votes, Presbyterian High is in front of Jurong and Ngee Ann. Jurong is in 2nd place, with 31 votes, whereas Ngee Ann is in 3rd. Cedar takes 4th with 17 votes. Surprisingly, Nanyang Girls’ who came in runners up in the ‘C’ Division championships this year did not receive a single vote for this category. Will these predictions come true? Or will Nanyang Girls’ create an upset by breaking into the top 4. Only time will tell.
In the Boys’ C Division, Catholic High emerged the winner in the voting battle against St Hilda’s for the championship title. Catholic High led the vote count by three, pushing St. Hilda’s back into 2nd. Shuqun and Xinmin take 3rd and 4th, with 26 and 25 votes respectively.
In the Girls’ C Division, Cedar Girls’ are still hotly tipped to finish with the title in their hands. At 36 votes, they were hot reader favourites over Ngee Ann with only 25 votes. Dunman, Shuqun and Xinmin are the three teams who look like they have to fight hard to prove that they belong in the top four. Dunman and Shuqun are in joint 3rd position with 16 votes each, whereas Xinmin lags behind with 13 votes.
Thank you all for your votes. We look forward to the new season to see how accurate your predictions will prove to be. 😉

I know it’s a little tiny winy late but in sports, anyone can take over that title of “CHAMPIONS”. Be the the guys are girls. I’d obviously help Ngee Ann ’cause I’m a Ngee Ann player. But what do you mean by fat hope? Impossible is nothing. And I believe everyone will improve during this break after the Youth and Mini cup. Who says the lousiest team can’t get into Nationals Top 4? Will you know? No. Are you someone who can predict the future? No. So why bother commenting so much when you are just ASSUMING that Presby will get champs for Nationals? No doubt that Presby trashed us. So? Does that prove anything? Okay, maybe that does. But the only thing that proved was our skills at that time. And not every players are totally on form everyday. It’s not Sunday every day my dear friend.
Every one has their goals to work to. For the girls, our goal’s to beat Presby. For the guys, obviously, St Hildas’. But who knows if Shuqun will be Champs?
If one works hard, their efforts will be paid off. And even if we are gonna lose to Presby. We won’t lose to them like how we lost during the Youth Cup competitions. Losing isn’t the end. So what if people lose? Everything has a possibility, everything has it’s pros and cons? Who know the star player from xxx team might sprain her ankle? Then it’ll be easier to will that so-called xxx team. Agree?
I reckon you should think before you type. When one is lousy, that person will wanna get better. Everyone wants to be the best, that’s sports. There’s no such things as: “Oh, I’m gonna give you chance this year” (Unless you’re one who likes to play dirty) No one likes losing, get this straight into your thick empty skull.
I’m sorry if I offended you. No one likes to read other people who spoils the reputation of their school. If I’m gonna say about some school, I bet I’ll see alot of that school’s players replying to this comment. Agree? No hard feelings. I just had to speak up for my team.
And this goes to other people that comment about the other teams too (: Don’t run other people’s school reputation down. No one likes that.
To all, good luck for the up-coming competition (:
