Hi athletes and sports fans,

You train, you prepare, you sacrifice. You take to the field of play. You do your best. You win. And nobody knows about it.

That’s the tough part about being a student athlete at times. Some readers have commented that the mainstream media doesn’t do justice to Singapore school sports. In some ways, you can’t blame the mainstream media. They prefer to cover English Premier League football and they also have limited space. So if they have to choose either a story of Manchester United or Jurong Junior College, JJC will lose. It’s unfair but that’s life.

So that’s why Red Sports exists. It’s to tell a Singapore sports story. However, as you have discovered too, Red Sports cannot tell every story. I cannot visit every game, take every picture, write every story. However, the difference between Red Sports and every other media is this:

RED SPORTS WILL ALWAYS ACCEPT YOUR STORY.

So the ball is in your court people. If you like the role Red Sports plays in your sporting life, you got to join hands with me and write your stories too. You send it, I’ll post it.
