Choa Chu Kang Sports Hall, Wednesday, January 16, 2008 – In a match that lasted less than 20 minutes, Nanyang Girls’ High (NYGH) defeated opponents Bukit View (BTV) with a convincing 2-0 win in a West Zone B Division Championship game.
The NYGH girls hardly broke a sweat as they easily received the BTV serve and sent it straight back into the BTV court. The BTV team, which made up of mostly secondary twos, had much difficulty receiving the balls as the NYGH girls found empty places to send their attacks to. NYGH served consistently and established a considerable lead against BTV. The BTV girls tried their best but struggled to receive the serves. The BTV girls however, were not disheartened, and cheered whenever any teammate managed to receive a serve and get their own service across. NYGH wrapped up the first set quickly at 25-4.
The second set saw little difference. NYGH #7, Stephanie, scored a match high of 15 points before being substituted by her coach. NYGH #1, Grace, however did not manage to continue the scoring frenzy and allowed BTV to take only one point. However, NYGH quickly took back service with a good spike by #5, Lydia. NYGH setter #3, Tingshan then finished off the game by serving till the 25-point mark.
Final score: 2-0 (25-4, 25-2)

Whats wrong with being TRASHED or BRUSHED ASIDE by nanyang? BTVSS played for th first time, & if you noticed, most of them were C girls. & if you looked at th period of time btvss trained, seriously it was expected to lose to nanyang. They had so much more experience too. I seriously think tht all this comments are very unreasonable. It’s very INSULTING to btvss players. You can look down on them, i don’t care. REFLECT on your own words la okay. How would you feel if it was on you? I don’t think you will like it. Anyway, have you guys ever heard of this, ” When you cheer when you are winning, its normal. When you cheer when you are LOSING, it’s character.”
Please look into your own words before putting down insulting comments.
Firstly, what you mean to say is:
“Hope you’re NOT being biased in any way.”
If you want to be sarcastic, at least do it properly.
Secondly, if there is nothing about your zone or school, there is nothing stopping you from submitting a story.
If you cannot be bothered, it’s your loss. The accusation of bias does not hold because we have a policy of publishing any submission from readers.
nothing about northzone.
and so many about NAN YANG?
hope you’re being bais in anyway.
THANKS FOR THAT COMMENT sticky:D
vb : for all that you know, the writer is waiting to be enlisted to NS.
talking about a sports person, do you see Cristiano Ronaldo slamming the press for giving him any negative remark? Or do you see him rebound himself after seeing a negative remark. when spurs thrash arsenal 5-1 in the carling cup, what headlines were seen?
If simple report like this is able to create a big disturbance to your mental system, then i would say that you still have a long way to build on your mental toughness.
hmm, i think the person who use the words ‘brush bukit view in 20 mins’ seriously needs to reflect on himself, As a sports person, it will be important that u play well, but of course you have to be humble too. What is the big deal if u thrash the other schools? If your school is good, winning is what everyone expects from u all, and not what u said earlier on..
Peace and Love everyone! May the best team win!
Yes, you can submit your own article. There is no reason to accuse any writer for bias because you are allowed to submit stories about your own team and write your opinion. I’m not stopping you. So if you don’t like what a writer is saying, just write your own story. It’s really that simple. If you cannot be bothered to write the stories like Jun Wei has done, then don’t complain that your school is not covered.
I am certainly not stopping anyone from writing about their school team every time they play a game.
Why is there this preoccupation with repoerting thrashings?! It’s good to feel all good an oost ur ego a little. But duh, how can u demand that it be reported?! If anyone wants something to be reported that badly, shouldn’t the report be done THEMSELVES? What about the other sch being reported about? Feels good? I believe good writers dun write about thrashings to give a particular sch an ego trip. Rather, we shoudl e bringing out the best in both teams playing.
No one was there to report, that’s why there isn’t an article about Shu Qun brushing Bukit View aside in less than 15 mins. If got people go, sure report one larh, such an exciting thrashing!! Well done by the way! (=
Anyway if I’m not wrong you can submit your own article, right uncle Les?
recognition * ?
though shuqun did won bukit view with that score , dont need to really write to show that you all r something … just play bah . you dont need to say how much you won to prove that you r more capable ? just play lor . win win lor . its still zonal anyway .
Shuqun won bukit view in less than 15mins alright. both sets 25-1.
Better than nanyang
Hey, i heard shuqun secondary BRUSHED ASIDE Bukit View in 15 mins.
If im not wrong, they wrapped up both sets at [ 25-1, 25-1 ]?
I feel that this website is s’posed to have the facts written properly and not showing likeness to a particular school(nanyang).
It is unfair to the rest of the schools, so please other schools deserve more reconition.
Thanks.
[we’ll see on wednesday..]:D
