Choa Chu Kang Primary School, Tuesday, March 18, 2008 – The scoreline read 95-39 in favour of Holy Innocents’ Primary at the end of their game against Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary. Incredible, but true! Both teams played each other as part of the first round of the National Boys Basketball Championship for Primary 6.
“It’s quite embarrassing,” admitted Sean Lim (#9) of Pei Hwa Presbyterian. “Although our team missed two starters who were absent from today’s match.”
But there’s really nothing to be ashamed about as the 12-year old boys from Pei Hwa Presbyterian fought gamely from the starting whistle till the end. It was just that they had not contended with someone in the form of Myron Lim before.
Myron who? That’s a name you certainly will be hearing about more often in the years to come.
Myron Lim (#14) of Holy Innocent Primary singlehandedly scored a staggering 40 points for his team, despite only playing three quarters. His strength, speed and basketball skills were clearly a notch above the rest as he contributed in rebounding, defense and shot blocking numbers as well.
Of course, the 1.8m centre was ably helped by his teammates as well, who tried to look for him at almost every attacking opportunity. Fellow lanky centre Jerome Tan (#13) also had a good shooting game, contributing 17 points while Jian Fu (#5) controlled the ball expertly for his Holy Innocents’ team.
But it was Myron’s skills and jumping ability on the court that saw the opposing coach and even the referees shaking their heads in disbelief. Incredibly, he still thought that he did not play well.
“I still have to improve on my defense,” was Myron’s polite assessment of his own performance.
Pei Hwa Presbyterian, which finished a creditable third in the West Zone Inter-Primary School Championship, were led by point guard Tan Yu Jing (#4).

Kelvin I doubt so. When he was playing juniors that wasn’t much news on primary school basketball. So we wouldn’t know much. But his bloooooooooooody tall!
well, we played the match hard leh. have to comment for pei hwa what. However i do agree of what u guys said. he;s overaged
lol myron lim..
He is 10,000 of 1. Mayb not even 1.
he is 1.8 n yet pri sch. cant imagine if he’s in secondary..
as expected of jared’s brother
I’m sure Myron is not a typical 12 year old playing for Senior Boys. He must be an overaged guy. If not , news would be around when he was playing for Junior Boys unless he started playing basketball in Senior Boys only.
cmon man dat dude is a s big as an average 15 year old bball player of cos he owns the rest…..cat high confirm want him….
cat high wants him already right
