Old Police Academy, Monday, April 7, 2008 – Raffles Institution beat St Andrew’s 6-0 in their semi-final match-up to cement their place in the National B Division Rugby Championship final.
It was an exciting match as both teams fought with their hearts. In the first half, RI won a penalty and scored 3 points. In the second half, the Saints put on a great fight and their winger almost scored in a counter-attack. However, RI won another penalty to go 6-0 up, putting further pressure on the Saints.
After that, St.Andrew’s attacked ferociously to get a try but RI defenders managed to hold them back despite much pressure.
RI will now face traditional rivals Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) in the championship final on Monday, April 14, 2008 at 4:15 p.m.
Congratulations to Raffles but certainly, the Saints must be recognised for their fighting spirit ! No way will it be the end of any era for St Andrew’s.
Keep an eye out for the A boys, gentlemen. They will fight to the very last man.
Avinash did a nice try-saving tackle on Saint’s winger that “almost scored in the counter-attack”. Nicely done, was a clean tackle.
GOOD JOB!!!!GO FOR IT !PLAY TO YOUR FULLEST!
