VJC, Saturday, April 19, 2008 – The girls of Victoria Junior College thrashed Meridian Junior College 6-0 last weekend in an A Division Football Championship game for their second victory in a row.
Kuan Ren (#10) of VJC scored in the first minute with a well-placed free kick to open accounts for VJC in what was predicted to be an easy game for the Victorians. VJC were however forced to dig deep for a second goal in the first half as their down-the-middle attacks were repeatedly denied and outnumbered by MJC’s determined defence.
In fact, MJC came close to an equaliser a few times owing to lapses in the Victorian defence, but they found themselves stuck in a pressure cooker in the second half and were forced to concede five goals for a 0-6 loss. Victorian's Pei Qi bagged a hat-trick (including a rare header), putting her in the front line for this season’s Golden Boot. Her goal tally currently stands at 8 after just two games.
Hi tony
Thanks for your concern.
As far as “readers-generated articles” go at Red Sports, they still go through the professional ‘judgment’ of seasoned editors before publication. Editors who have no reason to be bias and who will consider this article ‘balanced’ and far from condescending or defaming to the opposition. If a reader from MJC has a story to tell, you can rest assure that it will be published under the same guidelines. 🙂
Thankfully, sports is subjective, which makes it interesting to watch and read.
Objective writing is best left for sterile science experiments in the lab.
Jolyn’s article does not use strong words in my book. It is par for the course.
You may of course submit what you consider to be an unbiased point of view. This is an open platform and any game story will be published.
We are fair to all.
Despite this being a reader-generated article, I do believe the games should be viewed from an unbiased point. Using strong words will put others off. Especially when it is an attempt to ‘spice up’ your article. Clearly, it has failed to do so for me.
