A reader has kindly put this together for everyone’s benefit. Readers have said that the voting is more a popularity contest. Any vote will always have an element of that. In any case, the aim of this vote, in line with the mission of this site, was to bring our vibrant sports scene to light and given the sheer number of comments for this voting, we think that’s been achieved.
So whether this is the best 15 or not, let’s remember that they are fellow Singaporeans. If some of them move on to represent the nation one day, we hope that their appearance in the top 15 made an encouraging difference in their journey to that high honour.
Red Sports. Always Game.

How can, 12/15 of the top 15 players come from SAJC when ACSI trounced them in the final? This is utter crap
Hey, I like ACSI players best. They have skills and they dont talk so much like
others. If u guys think that u are so good, then congratulations to you. Self judgment is no use, the most important is what others think of you.
A good player not only good in skills, but also must be humble, with good character, respect others and also be respected.
If those who are so good, they should be selected by SRU to play in the men’s
team NOW, and not in the under 19 or 20’s team.
ACSI A Div captain is BrYan Wong
nachos,
Blandon is a good player regardless whether his team is better, or when the chips are down, and stacked against him. There is no denying he is a star.
This year, ACSI A division also has a very good captain, Brian Wong who inspires and motivates his team.
Its the chemistry and skills with this group that makes them awesome and the best.
KUDOS ACSI
i cld also be the SA fat boy
i am a rjc 2nd row btw
i’ve read the rest of the threads i’ve got some qns tho.
why is kevin neo rated so high? ( the reason why he started for SAS was because they didn’t have 2nd rows to begin with )
why is arthur getting ‘dissed?’ He is by far the most skillful forward in singapore, he’s got a amazing set of skills for a fat boy, hell… he’s got better skills then most backs in singapore.
why aren’t there more acs i players there?
why are acjc players still complaining about them being bette then sajc? Aiya lose already DON’T TALK. ( aiyo, but sa also lose leh, heh that’s why nobody complain )
Blandon is good player when his team is better but when the chips are down, chips are stacked against him, can he still be that star? to lift his team? reference: Blacks VS SCC ( 2007 ) aka ‘the game which Boon Rong embarrassed the acs i backline ( wait, before i get flamed i am not saying you guys suck okay? you guys are good players. it’s just that Boon Rong is awesome, currently one of the best in singapore, and i don’t mean for his age )
I am a SA guy? but too many SA players. HAHAHAHA they are good but not that good lahhh!!!!!
AC rugger,
Spot-on vote. This can be ‘The Dream Team’.
This list has the best players in their positions.
Besides the all ACSI team, this is ‘The Other’ winning team.
hahahah AC rugger i think that sounds more like the top 15 of this year’s season. how can the backline be filled with almost all SAJC players?! jokes. i think that list is a far more accurate 1, with jesse and abel deserving to be in there. but other than that…………
here is the top 15,the dream team based on the final votes!
#1 Carlos (prop, sajc)
#2 Arthur Lim (hooker, sajc)
#3 David Tambunan (prop, sajc)

Thank you saints.
Next year, level playing field again.
Everyone will be training hard, with ACSI trying to retain the titles and Saints, RI, ACJC and the rest working hard to take the title.
So all the best to everyone, and may all eventually bond thru the spirit of rugby.
To the Os and As and IB students- may you excel in your exams.

even though i dont want to agree with you BB,i have to.kudos to acsi this year for winning the a div cup, the issac cup and the b div cup.and y’all are competing for the c div trophy too.well all i want to say is, great job acsi but the SAINTS are coming back next year!haha, looking forward to a great 2009
Voted top 15 doesnt necessarily mean they are the best, and that it is the dream team.
Off cos we are by no means robbing any1 of their recognition.
No doubt all are good players, just to varying degrees.
There are indeed a few deserving ones who epitomize school rugby.
‘THE DREAM TEAM’ has to be one that is consistently good, winning most if not all matches, esp the important championships- National and ISSAC.
And this, we give honour to ACSI.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY, THE BEST IS YET TO BE!
yea,i totally agree with u joke. voting doesnt really show who the best players are, but what it does show for sure is that these players voted into the top 15 have some quality,if not they wont be there at all.no doubt this may not be a dream team,by i feel its still a very very strong team.so lets give them some credit for being there in the top 15, congrats guys!
well, all i can say is at the end of the day, rugby is the real winner! no offence to anyone, but rugby is THE sport, its the beautiful game, not soccer. rugby=hooligan’s sport played by gentlemen, soccer=gentlemen’s sport played by hooligans. no offence to soccer fans, but its just me!
