A reader has kindly put this together for everyone’s benefit. Readers have said that the voting is more a popularity contest. Any vote will always have an element of that. In any case, the aim of this vote, in line with the mission of this site, was to bring our vibrant sports scene to light and given the sheer number of comments for this voting, we think that’s been achieved.
So whether this is the best 15 or not, let’s remember that they are fellow Singaporeans. If some of them move on to represent the nation one day, we hope that their appearance in the top 15 made an encouraging difference in their journey to that high honour.
Red Sports. Always Game.

Well, I put this poll up in response to readers’ requests.
If others feel this way, I won’t do this poll for rugby anymore.
If anyone feels the poll is pointless, no need to take part, really. It’s just for the fun of it and to give some recognition to players who have put in their best for their teams.
So thank you for your comment, BB.
Hi Les,
Dun think need much monitoring on the ” best 15 ruggers “. Seems like only 1 school is coveting it.
Its obvious the other ‘BIG-3 POWERHOUSE’ and their supporters have stopped voting. And these schools have great players, who see beyond ranking. POINTLESS!
hi rugby fans,
Feel free to update me on the changes for the top 15 any time you see a shift in the voting.
I’m not monitoring the top 15 constantly cos there are too many things happening on the site and stories to go cover.
So once you put any updates in the comments section, the volunteers or I will update the top 15 list.
Thanks for the help.

supporter : lol youre a waste of time, dont bother replying, im not gonna be here to read it.
acsi are the soon to be champions of Adivision and they only have 1 player in the dream team? i suspect the saints players have been voting for themselves
mingqi had a monster of a game against acjc. Really deserves to be there after that game.
Actually i agree with what i read posted by some people. Aside from the ‘Big 4’ the level of rugby’s just not there. Just look at the scores? But there are some players who are good in teams not playing for the ‘Big 4’. Shouldn’t write them off.
plate finals tmr. think jjc will come out winners
chan mingqi(scrumhalf, sajc) should be the #9 now, ahead of ian gan(srcumhalf, acsi) based on the updated votes.
correction from my previous comment,
Sam Teo(lock, sajc) has taken over Yi Shyen(lock, acsi),
so now it shld be #5 Sam Teo(lock, sajc)
BTW, keith(RJC) did not play this season. how did he get nominated and voted ?
based on the votes now, the top 15 players by position are:
#1 Carlos(prop, sajc)
#2 Arthur Lim(hooker, sajc)
#3 David Tambunan(prop, sajc)
#4 Jegathesan s/o Thanebal(lock, sajc)
#5 Yi Shyen(lock, acsi)
#6 Daniel Lum(flanker, sajc)
#7 Timothy Gay(flanker, acsi)
#8 Kenn Wong(no.8, sajc)
#9 Ian Gan(scrumhalf, acsi)
#10 Farid(flyhalf, sajc)
#11 Jonah Wee(winger, acjc)
#12 Jesse Quek(in-centre, sajc)
#13 Blandon Tan(out-centre. acsi)
#14 Abel Teo(winger, sajc)
#15 Sirhan(fullback, sajc)
Sirhan: Fullback 🙂
Based on the votes so far, can someone put together the top 15 players by position? I’m not familiar with the positions in rugby and also would appreciate someone lending me a hand. I am swamped. Thanks.
I’ll put it into the story once you’ve posted it here in the comments section.
Sorry, Benny, it’s just for the local sides for now. Will think about it for the next time if there’s demand.
How about Matthew Cheong? UWC hooker. Or is this only local side only.
