Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Friday, July 11, 2008 – Amanda Tan (#188) of Hwa Chong Institution rewrote the A Division Girls 100m hurdles record at the 49th Inter-school Track & Field Championships last week. She came in with a time of 15.47 seconds to win the gold, more than a second faster than her timing last year where she also came in first in the same event in 16.59s. Amanda Tan broke the record time of 15.92s set by Miriam Lee of National JC back in 2002.

Amanda Quey (#87) of Raffles Junior College took the silver with her time of 16.22s which is slower than her time for the B Division girls 100m hurdles last year. Ironically, Amanda Quey was faster than Amanda Tan last year. Quey, clocked a B Division time of 16.19s while Tan clocked an A Division time of 16.59s. This year, their fortunes changed and they switched finishing positions.

Siti Nurhanis (#138) of Victoria JC clinched the bronze with a time of 16.70s, an improvement over her sixth-place finishing time of 17.19s in the B Division girls 100m hurdles.
