Teck Ghee Community Club, July 25, 2008 – Singapore players continued to perform well in Round 3 of the 4th World Schools Chess Championship. Terry Chua of NUS High and Johnathan Koh of Raffles Institution are leading the U-17 Open, Timothy Chan and Shen Chuan-Qi of Raffles Institution share the lead in the U-15 Open, former World U-7 Champion Derek Lim of ACS Junior is flying the Singapore flag high in the U-9 Open, and Ryan Cheng, Nathan Mar, and Kenneth Weng are all leaders with perfect scores in the U-7 Open.
In the girls' events, Selina Sia of Nanyang Girls’ High is in contention in the U-15 Girls, Kristine Quek is a leader in the U-9 Girls as is Janelle Teo of Nan Hua Primary in the U-7 Girls. The championships started on 23 July and features over 250 players from 23 countries around the world.
