the difference is raffles take them and make sure they make it thru the IP program. And 200? No way. Students with 200 score, even if they get accepted thru DSA, will prob not dare to risk it. Other schools with 6-year program will tell them come in thru o level stream first and promise them they can cross-over to year 3 of the 6-year program in sec 3. but in the end the students end up going thru 4 years o level stream. That’s y some schools need the o level stream as back-up.
As for ministers, their sons and whatever blue-blood, does it matter? We’re talking sports here not collecting ministers’ sons.
Nobody said AC is the same standard as neighbourhood schools. The fact is the standard is not the same. AC does give the students exposure and opportunities that neighbourhood schools find hard to match. I’ll give credit where credit is due. But when disinformation is spread and false promises are made on an annual basis, just to gain an advantage in DSA recruitment over other top schools, it just makes me wonder what’s going on. I have spoken to students and parents who are fed false info and invariably they get the wrong info from the same source/school. One year they’ll be saying RI will put the boys in o level course (look who’s talking!) the next year they’ll say Ri make the boys do o levels as private candidate. I cannot say for sure ppl related to AC are spreading the wrong info cuz what i know is what i heard from parents and students involved in the DSA process. But i do know that Raffles provides the parents and students with accurate info regarding DSA because i have attended their talks and i work within the ministry.
It’s sad to know that school sports and the DSA process has become so murky. The original intent of DSA has been perverted by some ppl for their own selfish purposes. Seems like the “win at all costs” mentality still prevails…
Damai plays dirty and even punch the 8 man that has made me sick of them
Luke,
With the right sport and even a score of 200, raffles will also take them.
Rugby fan,
The ministers kids have been coming to ACSI since a long time. Dont know of any blue-blood attending raffles for some years.
Our PM’s 2 sons are from ACSI as with many other ministers and whose’s whose’s sons.
If the neighbourhood schools mentioned are of same standard as ACSI,
why they dont go there? Wonder why they dont go raffles or saints???
if u play the right sports well enough, psle 200 also can go acsi. y u think they still have o level stream whereas RI has long gone full IP?
