Beijing, Friday, August 15, 2008 – Sprinter Calvin Kang finished sixth in his 100m heat this morning and did not qualify for the next round. The 18-year-old Singapore Sports School graduate ran a time of 10.73 seconds, 0.2sec outside his national junior record time of 10.53sec.
Fracis Obikwelu of Portugal won the heat in a time of 10.25sec. He was follwed by Obinna Metu of Nigera in 10.34sec and Walter Dix of the United States in 10.35sec. All three qualified for the next round.
