2008 is coming to an end soon and all you athletes have sweated blood and tears to go faster, higher, stronger. In the course of the year, you have come across athletes who take your breath away.
Blessed with a physical genius the rest of us can only admire, when these athletes step onto the field of play, neutrals applaud, teammates cheer and opponents dread.
And not only are they talented athletes, they are genuinely great people to have around. They don’t make you feel stupid when you can’t play as well as them, and not only that, they encourage you, they lift your game. If you had a choice, they would be the brother or sister you never had.
So let’s nominate these student athletes and then let’s put it to a vote beginning of December 08.
Have fun. : )
Red Sports. Always Game.

I am adult already, not fit enough to be talented players like all you athletes.
Nah dun wan to argue just clarify.
then what about u ???
I personally think that Blandon Tan from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) deserve a bit of recognition after what he has achieved during his years on and off the rugby pitch. I remembered when he was at the age of 15, he captained the U-16 National Team which was truly amazing and inspiring. After 3 years of not winning the title, he was more determined to finish the year with a Bang and worked hard. Together with his school team players, they finished the A div season with the championship. After his season, he still continues to help out with the ACS (primary) rugby team despite his study commitment. He inspires the primary school players and he is well-liked as a coach in the team. Off the pitch, his peers all looked up to him as a person with great maturity. He is not only a fantastic player but also a gentleman that is looked up to by his juniors and people around him. To me, he’s the player of the year. Cheers.
Low Feng Hua deserves a shot at being the Red Sports Young Player of The Year as besides being a rugby player for Montfort Sec, he is also the B Division Captain this season as well as being Student Councillor. He was a member of the Combined Schools and National U-18 Rugby Team this year that played a series of matches against visiting British schoolboy teams. He is currently coaching the Montfort Rugby team after he was sent and passed the Singapore Rugby-International Rugby Board Level 1 Coaching Course. Together with his fellow senior, Pan Chao, he has been identified by the Montfort Rugby Teachers as future coaches for the school team. This is the first time that Montfort has embarked on using Old Boys to coach its rugby team. So Low Feng Hua has shown his leadership way beyond his 17-years-old.
Sorry, don’t mean that the athletes represented are of low standard. Novice means non-professional whereas Tao Li is world standard and pro swimmer.
VOTE FOR ANG KAI ZONG~
yeah, obviously…how can anyone claim to be at the same level of competition as athletes like tao li? dood…come on…
o.O
So u saying us we are in novice standard ???
Tao Li should be voted for Sportsgirl or Sportswoman of the Year award and leave the young athete of the year to novice or school athletes who sadly are not world record holders.
lol landdis are you jabez’s brother?
Haha.
Ok sure i will get girls to vote tooo ….
