NUS Sports and Recreation Centre, Tuesday, January 20, 2009 – The National University of Singapore and Ngee Ann Polytechnic are through to the final of the NUS-Great Eastern Water Polo Challenge.
NUS beat Nanyang Polytechnic 15-7 last night while in the other semi-final game, NP edged the Nanyang Technological University 10-8.
NUS are unbeaten so far in the tournament and have outscored their opponents by a collective score of 55-19.
They scored comfortable wins over SIM (5-0), SMU (22-6) and NTU (13-6).
NP too are unbeaten thus far. They beat NYP (17-5), SP (16-1) and RP (16-5) before seeing off the NTU challenge in the semi-final.
NP players Timothy Tay and Thaddeus Tock have 12 goals in the tournament so far, six goals off Andy Ou of NYP who leads the goal scoring charts in the race for the Golden Hand award.
Lin Diyan of NUS leads his team’s scoring with 11 goals.
The final between NUS and NP is scheduled for Friday, January 23rd, 2009 at 4.30pm at the NUS Sports and Recreation swimming pool.

NUS Sports and Recreation Centre, Tuesday, January 13, 2009 – The National University of Singapore water polo team got off to a good start with a 22-6 thrashing of the Singapore Management University in the NUS-Great Eastern Water Polo Challenge.
In other games, Republic Polytechnic beat Singapore Polytechnic (21-3) while Nanyang Polytechnic also registered a huge win over Ngee Ann Polytechnic (17-5).
Nanyang Technological University and the Singapore Institute of Management played out a 10-10 draw.
