Red Sports is two years old today.

After 730 days, 2,073 stories (and counting) and 17,810 approved comments (I had to throw out a lot), we have managed to reach the two-year mark.

Phew.

If you’ve been with us from day one, thanks for the company. On the first day, we had 123 visitors. These days, we’re averaging 40,000 readers a month.

So thanks for sharing your stories with us all these weeks, months and years.

The continuing mission of Red Sports is to tell the Singapore sports story.

Why?

Because this island is where we grew up, where we first learnt the thrill of sport and pulled on the pride of a jersey.

This is where we tasted the pure joy of winning at the buzzer, or felt the bitter agony of an own goal.

This is where we learnt humility in victory and graciousness in defeat.

This is where we learnt what our limits were on the field or courts of play, and surprised ourselves by exceeding them just that little bit more.

This is where we have made friends for life and love, forged in the heat of sporting battle.

Memories are made of these.
