To prevent one person from voting 1,000 times at one computer, the poll plugin doesn’t allow the same IP address to vote twice. The vote is being automatically calculated by the server.
If you find that you can’t vote despite not having even voted, it’s because the ISPs (StarHub, SingTel) use a rotating IP address system. So what happened is that your computer may be logged on using an IP address of someone who has voted already.
Sorry if this is a pain but the alternative is even worse – one person sitting in front of his/her computer voting 1,000 times.

This is unfair.how come others can vote with our IP address for who they support?then the real winners wont be known that way will they?this is cheating!
I wouldn’t be so quick to accuse us of cheating. If we didn’t have any restrictions on voting, one person will be sitting in front of the computer and voting 1,000 times. That would be unfair too.
Unfortunately, StarHub, SingTel rotate IP addresses. It cannot be helped and we can’t control that. But to allow unrestricted voting will also mess up the voting and make a mockery of the poll.
This way, we know that the votes are coming from all over the island. It’s just that some of you won’t be able to vote. It’s a pain but the lesser of two evils.
People are trying to vote for bukit merah but not sure how.it would be good if the management left instructions as around 5 people have tried to register just to vote,but it keeps claiming that we have an incorrect IP address.
