Republic Polytechnic, Wednesday, February 4, 2009 – Defending champions Singapore Sports School limited Navel Base Secondary to just two points as they made it look easy and won 65-2 in a B Division North Zone Netball Championship Group A match.
With the win, they are now three for three after having swept aside Punggol Secondary 61-9 and Woodlands Ring Secondary 47-6 in previous matches.
From the first whistle, Sports School’s victory was never in doubt as they were immediately settled and passed the ball with confidence. In contrast, Naval Base were never able to get their passing game going throughout the match, allowing their opponents to intercept almost all of their passes.
“There is no doubt that we have the capabilities to retain our title," said Captain Geraldine Ng of Sports School. "We are playing with confidence, and although these are easier opponents, we are prepared for tougher opponents in later rounds."
They will play their final game against Northland Secondary on Monday.
