Choa Chu Kang Sports Hall, Thursday, January 20, 2009 – Bukit Panjang Government High secured the girls’ B Division West Zone Volleyball Championship title with a 25-18, 25-22 win over Shuqun Secondary.
Despite several attempts by Shuqun Secondary to play a more aggressive game, Bukit Panjang were more than able to subdue their opponents.
Shuqun Secondary’s defenses crumbled against the rapid counter-attack of Bukit Panjang and their spikers struggled on many occasions to break the Bukit Panjang defense.
The second set was close, with no more than two points separating both teams. Nerves played a part as both teams were afraid to make mistakes as the set moved towards its climax.
Bukit Panjang showed better composure eventually and wrapped up the second set 25-22 to win the zonal championship title.
Final score : 2-0 (25-18, 25-22)

FARAH ROCKS! 😀 too smart le.
Fernan! CAPTAIN? O.o :DD
I never said she wasn’t. I already said that short isn’t an insult and I in NO WAY question her ablities as a volleyball player. I even said I agree.
Anyway, the word “short” isnt there, so why is this discussion still going on?
dont say others short leh, she’s really good! really fast n nimble. =)
hey hey I don’t disagree she is good. In fact, I think she is one of the better players in the team as pointed out by her captain.
Short doesn’t mean not good, tall/”towering” doesn’t mean good also. So short isn’t an insult, but since you dont really like that word, fine. It’s off. 🙂
no. 2 is like juz trying her best to touch the white strap?.
Sqs will surely upset some strong teams during nationals. Their defence is one of the best
Yeah man! Hmmm, the choice of words.. must be extra cautious
From what i saw that day few of shuqun’s serve was called for out but it was actually in ball!!The refree dunno doin wad sia,it could make a difference..
wth , insulting siah , although she’s short , she good ok ! >;l
Short? So insulting.
i guess they needed more luck, they tried very hard 🙂
Well-written recount of the whole match! But, captions for photo 3.. Hmm, “short”? I think nimble would be a better word 😀 She’s good!
Bukit Panjang
No 1 – Xinni
No 3 – Fara
No 5 – Fara
No 6 – Lingying
No 7 – Dionne
No 10 – Jiayu
Though Shuqun had lost to Bukit Panjang, it was quite a tough game. With Bukit Panjang, #3 and other tall girls with good blocking and spiking… And Shuqun’s players, short but good, they still didn’t managed to get the champion. It’s okay girls, c’mon and fight for champion now. Jiayou 😀
