Tanah Merah Country Club, Friday, March 6, 2009- Hot and humid weather saw co-leaders Paula Creamer and Jane Park hang on to their lead by one shot after Round 2 of the HSBC Women's Champions at the Tanah Merah Country Club.

Australian Katherine Hull shot a 4-under 68 to catapult her to joint third place and a total score of 5-under for the tournament. Korean Mi Hyun Kim shot a 3-under 69 for a share of third place alongside Hull. The leaderboard is jam-packed further down with two tied at 4-under and another four tied at 2-under. It is anyone's game right now at the halfway mark.

Hull is eager to keep her form into the weekend.

"It would be nice to start off this year with a win for sure. I think my first goal is to get into contention,” said Hull. “That kind of solidifies your confidence. It's going to be tough on the weekend, but, very happy to be in the place I'm in."

Park and Creamer, who are long-time friends and previous teammates of the Curtis Cup, were in the last flight and will remain together tomorrow, following their steady performance today. Both finished at 1-under for the day and 6-under for the tournament.

Creamer was still not feeling one hundred percent but that obviously wasn't an issue as she is still leading the pack.

"This morning I felt a lot better, actually. I’ve been taking a lot of medicine to help me. But, kind of, the fourth or fifth hole, I started to feel nauseous again and pretty sick out there," said Creamer.

"There are a lot of golfers very, very close together. And there are 36 holes left. Hopefully tomorrow I can make a gap, a big difference out there with the scores. Who knows what it’s going to be like."

Jane Park continued her fine run but she is not resting on her laurels.

"I didn't make as many birdies (today). I wasn't very accurate with my irons or as accurate as I would have liked to have been. But for the most part, I think it's only Friday. It's not the day to go super low, even though that would have been great. But obviously Saturday is moving day, you either move up or down the leaderboard. Tomorrow hopefully we'll make a move."

Defending champion Lorena Ochoa remains in the thick of things at 2-under for the tournament and is optimistic about her chances during the weekend.

"I am not too far from the leaders and I will try to be a little more aggressive tomorrow and hopefully the balls will drop," said Ochoa.

Local amateur Joey Poh remained positive and talked about her strategy for the weekend despite a sub-par performance which saw her fall down the leaderboard.

"My drives are straight and rather accurate. I will practice more on the feel of my putting."
