Jurong East Sports Hall, March 28-29, 2009 – The Netball Super League took an interesting twist this weekend as the round robin games moved closer to an end when Mannas beat league leaders Marlins 32-28 to put an end to the latter’s winning streak. However, Mannas dropped back to second position after their 31-45 loss to Stingrays on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Sharks gained their first points of the season by beating Vipers 50-39, putting pressure on the latter. Only the top four teams will proceed to the semi-finals. Vipers have a game in hand but their upcoming matches against Mannas and Stingrays will be difficult ones. Vipers have yet to beat either teams in previous encounters.
Meanwhile, Sharks will have to win or at least draw their game next week against the Mannas to get a chance to put a foot into the semi-finals draw.
